Saying Thank You
Tami L. Conner, one of my senior trainers at Ferrazzi Greenlight who recently presented a course at ASTD called "Building Deeper Relationships" wanted to share this with you....
What have been your life lessons of the power of generosity in building deeper relationships? You may find, like I did, that your lessons in generosity - from the earliest to the most recent - all point to the power of Keith’s message. No matter who we are, where we go, or what we want to achieve, relationships are the threads that weave our lives together. It’s only through the power of being committed to each others’ success that we can achieve success ourselves.
I want to challenge you to say “thank you” to a person who helped you. It's simple. Whether someone helped you achieve a goal, got you to where you are today, or helped you work through a struggle, think of someone who helped you get where you are in your business or personal life. Have you thanked that person for helping you? Right now, write an email, handwrite a note, or make a quick phone call to say “thank you” and let them know the positive impact their generosity has had in your life.
And on a sidenote, it's amazing what two days holed-up in a classroom at the ASTD conference can do to build and nurture relationships. Our participants wasted no time putting into practice each and every technique, skill, and mindset they learned. And, judging from the volume of emails. I’ve seen flying amongst the group, they continue to utilize what they learned in conjunction with Keith’s book. All across the globe, they're sharing currencies and contacts and helping each other reach their goals and build deeper relationships.
