I'm always trying to find ways to stop saying "Networking." (It's about RELATIONSHIPS, folks!) Never Eat Alone reader Chad Cheek gave me some simple but powerful ammunition.
I have always had a problem with "networking events" - they are BOGUS. A network is something that you have not something that you "do." For years I have approached the process of building relationships in the way you have articulated and it has helped me be so much more successful.
