Understand How Work Stress Can Affect Your Body

If you are repressing your emotions, it may be affecting your physical wellness, which is an important area of life success. Several years ago, I was traveling a ton for my new business, which was a fairly stressful start-up. I was trying to find ways to get the company on solid footing while being out of the office most of the time. I swallowed my feelings. I didn't even realize the level of stress I was under. Sure my blood pressure was high, but I told myself I just ran hot. Then I threw my back out. For a year, I was waking up 15 degrees bent to the left and it took me until about noon to be able to straighten up. Then someone sent me the book Healing Back Pain: The Mind-Body Connection by Dr. John Sarno. Sarno argued and proved a linkage between suppressed emotional stress and anger and its impact on lower back pain. Once the realization of this link sinks in, the pain disappears. I haven't had back pain since the weekend I read the book and that was four years ago. If you have back trouble, I recommend this book.

Re: Infographic: The 4 Main Stress Factors Re: Infographic: The 4 Main Stress Factors - I'd like to reference that article in my next blog post as well.. I worked in sales for years and found that days when I was positive, relaxed where days that it was easy to sell. On days that I was stressed I found I would not reach target. Stress is good at times, but it very easily becomes problematic. I do a lot of very physical exercise and work now, to manage it.
