Caution to the winds?

Yes, let’s throw caution to the winds and throw out our old habits with it. I just listened for the first time to my introduction to the Vancouver Dreaming Room recently past, and was I surprised!

It was wonderful!

I’m sorry, I know, I shouldn’t be saying such a thing about myself. But if you knew me you would realize that it is the last thing I would do. I never listen to myself, not my CDs, not my Speaking tapes, not my Dreaming Room tapes, nor do I ever read the books I have written. (I haven’t read any of these Manifestos either).

The logic is, once written, once said, it’s dead.

At least that’s my motto. Doesn’t have to be yours. I simply can’t bear to go back and repeat old business. There is so much I would have done better, or at least differently. So, yes, I love to throw caution to the winds, to go into uncharted ground, to let it rip, to speak out once and then shut up, and to speak out again, and then shut up, and then to write my heart out and then say something entirely different.

I only wish I could do it all so much better than I can.

But, again, as I said earlier, I just listened to ten minutes of a CD of my Vancouver Dreaming Room and I couldn’t help but feel the energy all over again, the way I felt when I first said what I said. The introduction of Beginner’s Mind and a Blank Piece of Paper, and why that’s such a significant idea (not only mine, but Zen Mind Beginner’s Mind by Suzuki), the idea that we can begin ourselves and our life and our business and our relationships all over again, anew.

I also said that this is an almost impossible thing to do.
Yet, in every Dreaming Room we attempt it, each of us in our own way, some of us struggle, some of us don’t try at all, some of us are wistfully helpless, some of us are tough and make noisy tributes to leaping over the bridge. Some of us cry, and some of us just rage with joy. So many emotions in the Dreaming Room. So many issues, barriers, struggles, completions, transformations. I love the feeling of going for broke. I love to watch as others do it. I love to have a hand in what happens, and then let it go and do it all over again differently with someone else. And then someone else. And then someone else.

I love it when I find myself like a blank piece of paper, empty of all guile, empty of all trying, empty of all conclusions, empty of all but what is present there in between us, in the space that is created when people earnestly open themselves up. I love to be filled up and then emptied, it feels like nothing else.

So, yes, let’s throw caution to the winds. Come join me in The Dreaming Room. I promise you I won’t know any more than you will what is going to happen to you. But, when it’s all done we will be able to knock back and have a great belly thumping laugh, and perhaps something else.

Here’s to something else.

Re: I really feel great today because . . . . . Re: I really feel great today because . . . . . - Hi GT, I’m pleased you have had a good weekend with the family and enjoyed some warm weather. I always feel better able to face the coming week when I have had a good weekend or even a good Sunday. I don’t know what it’s like in Canada but here in the UK our seasons seem to be all mixed up now. We used to have March winds and April showers and the summers were fairly predictably warm and the winters were always quite fierce. Nowadays we seem to have a sort of middle of the road climate most of the year when you are just as likely to have a sunny day in January and you just don’t know what to wear any more. Perhaps I am living in a dream world harking back to my childhood but I seem to remember long hot summers and winters with huge snow drifts, snowball fights and toboggan rides with my friends, can I really be imagining this ??. well that’s enough reminiscing, back to work for me, take care, Mal.
Mobile Marketing Mobile Marketing - Mobile marketing is a huge growth opportunity for local businesses. More and more people are carrying smartphones that have always-on internet connections, and they're using them to find local businesses when they're on the go.There are very few businesses that approach mobile marketing correctly, however. Most companies have either no "mobile" version of their website, or if they do it's really just a smaller version of the same site. The latter is a little better option, but it's still not very effective. As far as the first problem - having no mobile-specific version of your website - this makes it extremely likely that someone searching for more information will simply leave the page and look for another site that's friendlier. Having a mobile-friendly version of your websites is a better option so that it can be easier to read. After all, what are people looking for when they look up a business on their mobile phone? 99% of the time, they're looking for one of two things - a phone number or an address. They don't want to read the website or anything else; they're just trying to either call or get to the right location. If someone searches for a local business on their smartphone, and winds up on a webpage, don't you think the chances are much better that they're going to actually call and/or visit as a result? And that's not all you can do with mobile websites. Most of today's smartphones have various other functions that can be integrated into a mobile site. Many smartphones have GPS functions built right in. What if you could include GPS coordinates on your website so all your potential customer had to do was click on the link and it would open their GPS and give them exact directions to get from wherever they are to your location? Or how about including all that contact information on your website so that customer could click another link and automatically have it all loaded into their phone's address book? Don't you think they'd be a lot more likely to make multiple visits to your business if the details were all loaded in their phone whenever they needed your products or services? For that reason greater chance of visiting your site is possible.
