Entrepreneur Things

Article Overview: Entrepreneurs ( I need to share this with you) do the most ridiculous things. (I’m not going to name any of those things here because I don’t want to hurt the feelings of the dumb entrepreneurs who thought them up) But, I’m sure you know what I mean. I’m sure you’ve asked yourself the question from time to time, “What in the world was he thinking?” Well, that’s the subject of this morning’s blog. (It’s morning where I am, and I woke up with the thought that I needed to get this out of my system, off my chest, out of my mind, so here goes.)

Entrepreneurs ( I need to share this with you) do the most ridiculous things.

Entrepreneurs do the most ridiculous things.

I watched The Donny Deutsch Show (Big Ideas) for some insight into what’s on TV about entrepreneurship and it was as far as I could tell just about the only thing available. The Trump Show had gone the way of reality shows in general so I had stopped watching that. If you know of any others I might watch, please let me know. Because I watched, as I said, the Donny Deutsch Show once and I know I’ll never watch it again. It is like Jerry Springer on business as far as I could tell.

The entrepreneurs who Donny had on his show as great examples of verve, pluck and creativity (Donny gets sooo excited, and he’s a really good looking kind of up New York guy who made it in advertising so he supposedly knows what a good product needs to be or to do to make a hit of it) and they are sooo excited to be sitting there with Donny and telling him how they were just standing around one day and then, bam, there came the Big Idea that they’ve been pursuing by hook and by crook, learning as they go, and there it is, voila, a shoe with five inch heels that reeely captures the imagination, or a cute little box for your kids to take their lunch to school in that looks like puppy, or a cape, yes, a cape (I was surprised that that warranted some time on Donny’s Show) but a Cape it was, and I guess it was kind of neat of you wanted to be Bat Man or Robin or some other kind of Cape prone hero, and on and on it went. Stuff I would never have thought someone would have been so excited to have thought up.

There’s a good pace to the show and everybody gets reeeally excited, but I couldn’t help but think, hey Donny, do you reeeally think a Big Idea is another hopelessly cute product that the world could really do well enough without? Do you really think that promoting and doing kicky stuff is what entrepreneurship is all about, and that we who must find our Big Ideas really not so big at all and boring after watching all the puffing and wheezing and cute, cute smiles that you generate from the reeeeally thrilled and excited guests who, it feels like to me, are truly wanting to be guests on American Hero but made it to your Show instead because they couldn’t sing. Do you really believe that’s what America is all about, Donny?

And did you reeeally buy an upscale, kicky, laid back and very cool apartment in a TRUMP building?

And is that what I get to do too if I can do what you obviously can do so well?

Yes, I said it, and I’ll say it again, if entrepreneurs aren’t careful they will do the most ridiculous things.

Come Dream With Me.

Re: Joint Ventures?? Re: Joint Ventures?? - I have done a lot of JV's in the past. Things like you join my program and I'll join yours, or your promote my product and I'll promote yours, and other things like that. I've also started sites with other people in a JV where they would have a job like building and maintaining the site and I would market or something like that.
