Have you read Banker to the Poor?

If not, it was written by Muhammad Yunus, winner of the Nobel Peace Prize for founding Grameen Bank in Bangladesh.
If anyone could be called Banker to the Poor it would be Muhammad Yunus.

He has provided micro-lending for the impoverished not only in Bangladesh, but throughout the world where many, many others have launched Grameen Bank clones to transform the impoverished into productive, self-sustaining human beings in a way never done before.
But, Dr.Yunus has done more than that. He has demonstrated with the creation and growth of Grameen Bank that entrepreneurship is not just limited to hamburgers and widgets, not just to consumer products and services, but to the creation of any kind of venture at all, even one aimed at such a lofty and seemingly impossible goal as the eradication of poverty from the face of the earth by 2050 through the same sort of innovation and systemization that a McDonald’s, a Starbucks or a Walmart have used to produce their resulting mega worldwide organizations. Imagine, sitting down and saying, “Let’s eliminate poverty by creating a turnkey system for making certain every impoverished human being on the face of the earth who desires to become self sustaining gets the small amount of money they need to become productive. How would we do that?
Yes, how would you do that?
What is your Great Idea?
What is your methodology for making it a reality like Grameen Bank is today?
What is your entrepreneurial Dream, your Vision, your Purpose, your Mission?
That’s what The Dreaming Room means to me.
It is my way of doing what Muhammad Yunus has done. By awakening the entrepreneur within millions of people worldwide, I intend to make it possible for countless millions of us to create exactly what Dr. Yunus has created through the invention of entrepreneurial true ventures which possess the capacity to transform the world.
How about you?

And, in the meantime, go out and buy Dr. Yunus’ book. It’s a miraculous.
Story!

Topics of Interest Topics of Interest - There have been some wonderful resources posted in this section. However, I also strongly advise any entreperneur to pick up a few books on personal financial planning; cash flow is key to any business and the best way to start planning good cash flow for your business is to learn some personal financial planning. I have always enjoyed the following: The Millionaire Next Door- Thomas Stanley and William D. Danko Richest Man in Babylon- George S. Clason Rich Dad, Poor Dad- Robert T. Kiyoski and Sharon L. Lichter There are many many more great resources on this topic. These should be read in conjunction with the other resources posted here. Good luck.
Source of Inspiration Source of Inspiration - Ever since I can remember, I've always had an innate interest in business. My father is a businessman, and I have been doing odd business jobs for quite some time before my eyes were really opened. After graduating college, I was contemplating whether I should go back home and take over the family business, or get an entry level job somewhere and begin my career. But I would never forget the day I read Rich Dad Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki while traveling on a plane to Michigan back in 2001. From the first chapter on, the book really hit home, and I learned more about what I wanted to do with my life by reading that one book, than anything I learned in college. (I did graduate cum laude) It seemed as though, the story mimicked my life, and was written just for me. It was the ultimate source of inspiration for me, and I truly began my journey with no turning back.
