Well, it has been quite some time. I apologize for my absence. The thing is I’ve been working on my book, Awakening the Entrepreneur Within and I just, last night, wrote the last two words of it… The End! There aren’t many more where that came from. I can promise you that. What a book, what a journey, what a test of my mettle. It started almost a year ago. I thought for sure I would have it done by July last year. I would have bet you on it. Glad I didn’t. I was lost for months, grappling with the question, the earnest question, how best to tell it? How best to share with someone who has yet to start a business, or even someone who already has, what it means to dream in earnest and to make a business out of it? What it means to formulate a Great Idea, seemingly out of nothing, and to bet your life on it? What it means to go for broke, to put yourself completely into it, to conceptualize it fully as your commitment to make it or break it, to produce this exceptionally unique company whose capability it is to do something you’ve never done before for people, your customer, you’ve never met before and don’t really know that well? What does it mean to be an entrepreneur in what I have come to call this Age of the New Entrepreneur, where scalability and transformation and meaning are the three sisters whose hearts, souls and compatibility are essential standards for your invention’s ultimate success? This was what I faced every morning for the past year as I got up, often after a truly fitful sleep, not knowing what I would do when it came to the blank page, what I would say, what I would meet in the words that rolled out of me to gather up like exclamation points and moss on the flat rock of my imagination, inventing a book much like one does when he or she invents a new, unimaginably complicated yet very, very simple, when it is done, business. So, enough of that. I solve my problem, and, in the process, create one for you! When Awakening comes out in February, 2008, you’re just going to have to read it! Between now and then I’ll do my very best to give you a lot of previews. But, the very best way to preview it is to come dream with me In The Dreaming Room.
