How to Develop Your Service Business

Most of us don’t go through a single week without buying some type of service product. The increased prevalence of service industries over the last two decades has made this the fastest expanding sector of the economy. The service sector, as defined here, includes the major industry groupings of trade, finance, insurance, communications, public utilities, transportation, and government, as well as business and personal services. And it accounts for almost three-fourths of the Nation's employment.

Entrepreneur Things

Entrepreneurs ( I need to share this with you) do the most ridiculous things. (I’m not going to name any of those things here because I don’t want to hurt the feelings of the dumb entrepreneurs who thought them up) But, I’m sure you know what I mean. I’m sure you’ve asked yourself the question from time to time, “What in the world was he thinking?” Well, that’s the subject of this morning’s blog. (It’s morning where I am, and I woke up with the thought that I needed to get this out of my system, off my chest, out of my mind, so here goes.)

I can’t help but wonder if I were born in any other time…

…how different my life would be today. If you were to ask the very same question, I am sure you would discover some remarkably interesting answers.

Organizing For Growth

It has been a long time since I read the most extraordinary business book I have ever read, Organizing For Growth by Theodore Levitt.

Throwing Caution to the Winds

I am often asked whether entrepreneurship comes easy to me. The answer is yes and no.

The Exhilaration of Intention

I just had an amazing realization during a keynote address I gave to the Chabad of California annual rabbis’ conference.

Sorry to have been away so long

Yes, I do apologize. To be frank (right now I wish I was anyone but me, yes, even Frank) I have been on the mend. The last tour just about wiped me out and then this nasty speaker’s curse, the curse of the throat, plagued me for weeks. Harsh, cough, gravel, hurt. All of that and more. Which of course affected the rest of me…will I ever be able to speak again? Oh, my goodness, is this it? Am I on my way out? Weak, weak, weak. You get my point.

Have you read Banker to the Poor?

If not, it was written by Muhammad Yunus, winner of the Nobel Peace Prize for founding Grameen Bank in Bangladesh.

There aren’t any more where that came from

Well, it has been quite some time. I apologize for my absence. The thing is I’ve been working on my book, Awakening the Entrepreneur Within and I just, last night, wrote the last two words of it… The End!

When a book is finished

It takes a long time to finish a book. Even after it’s done it isn’t finished. It lingers in you for a long, long time. Even then, after you think it’s gone, it isn’t.
