Calvin Klein Quotes

Anything we do in advertising is controversial. If it’s provocative and sensual and related to what we’re selling, I'm willing to take the chance. I have fun with the ads.

I create the underwear to make people look sexy. So my point is that when I advertise it, for sure I’m going to show it to its greatest advantage. And, I’m going to do it on somebody who has an excellent body, male or female, doesn’t matter.

I learned a lot, because he threw me into the snake pit. It’s a fiercely competitive business, and Millstein was a perfect example of that world.

People have done it without having formal training in design, but I don't hire people unless they've been formally trained. I look for people who really are talented, creative, inventive, modern in thinking and hard working. Because this is – we’re in a very hard, tough business.

American designers weren’t considered very important then. We were considered inferior – copyists of the Europeans, lucky if we got a front-row seat at a French couture collection.

I’ve never been one to see women in ruffles and all kind of fanciful apparel. To me it’s just silly.

The next cKone generation has different values and communicates in a very modern way. When we take this campaign to email, it makes it very personal.

I want everyone I can get. Jews, Catholics, gays straights, you name it!

You can’t advertise for one group. Otherwise, you end up having a very small business!

There’s an awareness of fashion in this country, and it’s not limited to gay people. If business were geared toward selling just to gay people, we wouldn’t have much of a business and neither would anyone else, because that group is not big enough to support it.

There has been a change in men’s attitudes toward their clothes. In the past, the wife bought all the husband’s clothes, and that happens a lot less today. American men are more aware of fashion; they’re not afraid of it and they like clothes better and are willing to spend more time and money choosing them.

Fashion is about selling clothes. I’m in a business where no one cares about anything except how well your last collection sold.

I think fantasies are for the birds. Anything I wanted to do, I did. If there’s something I want, nothing stops me.

The money is not that important to me, whether it’s $800,000,000, a billion or two billion.

I don't think about my fame very much and I don't dwell on success. Maybe that's one reason I'm successful.

I get either very excited about something or very depressed.

Doing everything as well as possible meant survival.

Fashion is about change. It’s fun to keep changing and to change the silhouettes, to change the fabrics and to change the colour.

Facebook application Facebook application - Hi Kevin - thanks for the suggestion! The two that we were thinking of were Famous Entrepreneur Quotes and Which famous entrepreneur am I most like? I like your idea as well. We've got a rollout schedule of new features for the site that we are working on first before we can get to the Facebook app. We're also not sure how hard it is to integrate into Facebook. It looks like there is a php way to do it which is great because that is our core competency.
Facebook applications Facebook applications - ....[quote:36s714h1]The two that we were thinking of were Famous Entrepreneur Quotes and Which famous entrepreneur am I most like? [/quote:36s714h1] So far my own foray into Facebook has been a complete bust, though I expected that from the start. But if I do an Application for my own particular field of interest, such as Your Favorite Sci Fi movie...that might get people going. So Evan when you figure out how to do this please let me know how complicated it is!!
The importance of a name The importance of a name - [quote="Takuya":3fcem7it]Thank you everyone. She will be a daddy's girl. Girls are so fun! Kevin, Names... I need to ALWAYS name my children by the way it can also be spelled in Japanese. All of my kids are dual citizens and Japanese don't carry letters like, V, TH, L, and most words tend to end with A, I, U, E, O or so I choose REINA, which is a Japanese name, yet can be said in English or even in Spanish (means Queen I found out) in order to have passports issued with the same spelling. My first boy is Kai - so once again, it sounds Japanese yet can be said in English. His middle name is Ichiro after the famous baseball player and I figured it should be his middle name instead of first because if you don't follow baseball, that's a hard name to remember. So even if my wife (Chinese American) wants English names like Jack, Sam, Kevin, Andy .... I'd have to spell out Jakku, Samu, Kebin, Andii -- you know, bit different. This way, REINA instead of more common RAYNA.[/quote:3fcem7it] Hi Takuya, I love the logic behind the naming of your children because it's like branding in business. Your kids have names that are easy to say and remember, yet they are spelled in a way that has cultural significance. On a side note, I've found that many Asian people (i.e. former co-workers and even my own family members from Hong Kong) spell and pronounce my name as Kelvin, Calvin or Keven.
