Singing All The Way To The Bank: How Lopez Achieved Success

“A few years down the line, you wake up in a certain place and wonder how the hell you got there,” says Lopez. How did a girl from the Bronx grow up to become one of the world’s most renowned actresses, dancers, singers, fashion designers and producers in the world?

She Worked Nonstop: Lopez credits her mother for making her believe that she could do anything she wanted, provided she worked hard at it. With that confidence, Lopez attacked her obstacles head on and worked towards her goals with a vengeance. An admitted workaholic, Lopez’s ambition is well known throughout Hollywood. But, in the end, Lopez says it has all been worth it. “Even though it’s hard work, this is it. It doesn’t get any better than this.”

She Weathered the Storms: “You run into a lot of rejection in this business,” says Lopez, who experienced her fair share of failures. From botched auditions to unsuccessful marriages to movie flops at the box office, Lopez has encountered numerous setbacks all of which have occurred in the harsh glare of the public spotlight. But, Lopez kept on trooping. “I just never lost faith.”

She Went After Her Passion: “I started dancing when I was 5 years of age,” says Lopez. “At 17, I wanted to have a career as a dancer…I think when I saw Rita Moreno in West Side Story my fate was sealed. She’s a Latina and she sang and danced. I was mesmerized.” Having discovered her passion early on in life, Lopez dedicated herself wholeheartedly to pursuing her dreams. It was her passion for her work that made it easy for her to put all her time and effort into it. “You have to love what you do to put so many hours in and to put so much energy into things. And I think I just love what I do.”

She Followed Her Instincts: Lopez didn’t always make the popular decision nor did she always make the right decision. But, by following her gut instincts, Lopez could have confidence in her choices and take responsibility for their consequences. She first followed her instincts by ignoring her parents’ wishes for their daughter to be a lawyer and from that point on, there was no turning back. Lopez was going to follow her heart and impulse no matter what.

She Remembered Where She Came From: Both before she achieved success and after she became one of the most recognized faces in the world, Lopez stayed true to her Latin roots, promoting her community whenever she could. It was her unique background and upbringing that both helped her succeed and remain grounded after her success.

“You can't take life for granted,” says Lopez, who has followed her own advice and occupied her every second with pursuing new ideas and venturing into new businesses. “I'm not the type of person who feels you only have to do one thing or choose between stuff that you love doing…Whatever you want to do, do it!”

You can see my Bank statement......... You can see my Bank statement......... - Hi there, Today we are bombarded with 'Business Opportunities' by the multitude. I believe it is possible to earn a lot through the internet, but it is hard work. Nobody gets it very easy on a long term basis. How much notice do people take, when the Bank Statements are shown as means of 'how credible' their business idea is? Are they always totally true? They look authentic. The whole industry is growing rapidly. What is your experience? Is there any regulation in presenting the 'Bank Statement' or other statements from 'Click Bank' etc ? I have been considering approaching them for a business loan.[/quote:255lkmrn] I'll be working with the BDC later this month on a few projects. From what i've been told they are really great when it comes to small business. Their loans have a little higher interest but their payment terms are a lot easier to swallow. I can give you a contact if you need.
Re: Interrealtionship between financial statements Re: Interrealtionship between financial statements - Hi there, It is not necessary to post each transaction in all of the separate financial statements. In any given transaction, you will post an equal amount of debits and credits to the associated accounts. An example would be if you were to write a check for $500 to office depot for office supplies. The posted transaction would be: DEBIT Office Supplies $500.00 CREDIT Bank Account $500.00 Once the transaction is posted, it will automatically show up on the appropriate financial statement report. In the above example, you would find the Bank Account transaction on the balance sheet and the office supplies transaction on the profit and loss statement. I hope this is clear! Please let me know if you have any other bookkeeping questions. I would be happy to help, Stephanie Horne
