How do you think you can help other members in the forums? Having been in 3 different professional realms, I feel I have built different strengths from each of them. My teaching experience was my first introduction to what the public can be like. I was constantly selling myself to the parents and staff and dealt with many situations that have made me a stronger person today. Once in real estate as well, I learned that there is a lot of greed in the world, from which I had been sheltered from in education. I decided that for me, honesty is always the best policy even if you are going to lose a $1,000,000 sale, and that your reputation is your greatest asset and needs to be protected at all coasts. My current position working with Chiropractic Software continues to teach me something new about sales and particularly about software sales each day. I feel that combined, these experiences have molded me into the person I am today and I know that they will allow me to help others who may encounter many of the same roadblocks that I have had to go around. What do you like most about the EvanCarmichael.com Forums? There are a wide range of businesses represented and all levels of experience and everyone is very happy to share. It's a great place to come and find answers to your business questions and to work together to find solutions to the problems you encounter as you grow your business. People are very passionate about putting their new ideas into action and it is infectious for everyone participating. What does your business do? We at Chiro QuickCharts develop and sell software for chiropractic patient records/notes. It interfaces with several of the billing software on the market so the doctors don't have to waste time filling in the demographics, and sometimes even their codes will be exported to save time and money. We have resellers all over the United States and doctors who use our Chiropractic Software from coast to coast. Why did you want to become an entrepreneur? I like adventure, and regular jobs can be very boring after so much repetition. In this business every day is different and we have freedom to set our own hours, to a point. I also wanted to have more of a say in the things that were taking place around me. When you work in a regular job, you are just told what to do and expected to do it. It's almost mechanical. Who is your favourite entrepreneur? George Foreman. I went to a motivational event and he spoke about his life experiences and how they have changed how he thinks and reacts to things. I had no idea how poor he was even after all of his boxing success, yet he was able to pick himself up, dust himself off (with the help of his wife, I'm sure) and develop a product that took him back up the ladder to success. I have a lot of respect for anyone that can do that. What is your favourite business book? "See You at The Top" by Zig Ziglar. This book taught me many life lessons; things that I could apply to every area of my life (physical health, relationships, mental health, business, and spiritual). I often return to read it again when life's mishaps start to bring me down or I'm feeling unsuccessful for some reason. I also saw him speak just a few years ago and he's as inspirational now as he was 35 years ago. What is your definition of success? Being happy with what you do at work and happy with what you have at home! I would also like to be a leader in offering
