How do you think you can help other members in the forums? I've learned a lot from failing in my first business venture and from connecting with successful entrepreneurs. Therefore, I'm able to share my experiences on the do's and don'ts of a start-up business. What do you like most about the EvanCarmichael.com Forums? It's a site made by an entrepreneur for entrepreneurs. As much as our family and friends may love and support us, their words of encouragement and advice don't always have the same weight as someone who has "been there and done that". In addition, the EvanCarmichael.com Forums offer the opportunity to connect with "real" entrepreneurs and personalities. For instance, there's only one "mphcoach" or "RussellWebb", and that's unique to this forum. What does your business do? I'm currently in the process of doing research for my 2nd entrepreneurial endeavour, which will either have something to do with tennis or cooking/baking. Why did you want to become an entrepreneur? First and foremost is my desire to create value for others. Secondly, it allows me to push my creativity and other talents to the limit, which I would otherwise not have the opportunity to do so in a regular 9-5 environment. Who is your favourite entrepreneur? Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird because they took a sketch of a bipedal turtle with Nunchukus strapped to its arms and turned it into the world wide phenomenon we know as "The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles". What is your favourite business book? My favourite business book would have to be Jeffrey Gitomer's “Little Black Book of Connections”, while I'd say the best business book is Martin Lindstrom's “BRANDsense”. What is your definition of success? To make enough money to spend $7 on a dessert after dinner and being healthy enough to beat my rivals in tennis, haha. But on a more serious note, I define successful people as those who doesn't settle, know what they want in life and aren't afraid to lose what they have in order to get it. More importantly, success is doing what you love to do for a living, while still having the time to spend with those you care about most. |
