Can Soemone Invent a Longer Day

Postby MichelleJ » Wed Nov 04, 2009 4:29 pm

At the moment I just seem to run out of day before I can complete half the tasks I have to do. Does anyone have some brilliant way of giving me more hours each day until I can catch up with myself?

Hi Michelle - I know exactly what you mean!

I have various to-do lists and they are all far too long. What I would like is more energy, especially after about 4pm!

Focus and prioritise, focus and prioritise.....

lol - Good suggestion, Michelle!

One problem that needs to be resolved is the terrible waste of nighttime hours! If humans didn't have so much down time, we could achieve so much more.

What we need is to discover what exactly our energy source is (the thing that requires us to re-charge by sleeping at night), and find an alternative power supply for it ... so we can just keep on going like that pink bunny.

I have devoted a lot of thought to this (and have done a tiny bit of research), but I cannot find a difinitive answer.

There is something that powers us that requires daily recharging: what is it?

I like that GT all we need to do now is find that battery that has to have down time and maybe then we could find a solution.

That's funny GT. Let me know when you figure it out. I'd be willing to be the guinea pig for it. LOL

I may have mentioned this before, but it seems like the more consistent exercise I do, the less time I need to sleep. Not sure if I'm the only one that way, but I don't require much sleep.

Hi, Mary:

I don't exercise consistently enough to state conclusively that it makes a difference, but I am fairly certain that it does make a difference for me. I know that in the day time, I feel better when I am exercising regularly.

Hi Mary
I do exercise regularly gum 3-4 times per week it's just that I usually start my day at around 6am and find that by 11pm I usually am so tired that I cannot continue. If that is not a long day then I don't know what is.

lol - Looked fine to me! Chewing gum is about the only exercise I DO get these days! The construction around our place is now finished until spring and we no longer have to hike half a kilometre or so through the woods to get to and from our vehicles.

I hear ya on that one, Michelle!

As Ros pointed out, I'm one that needs to focus and prioritize a little better. Definitely haven't mastered that one. I think that I would have time to get stuff done if I could just manage my time better.

However, I wouldn't have to if we had longer days!

I hear ya on that one! I do this full-time and I still probably only get as much done in a day as someone who is really focused gets done in a quarter of the time.

LOL... I think it has a lot to do with, at least with me, getting distracted too easily. That's where the focus comes into play. When I'm doing freelance work, I'm focused and get the job done quickly. But, when it comes to my own business and everything it involves, I tend to slack off and put things on the back burner. Probably not the best strategy, but when I do get focused, I get a lot done. I just wish I was always focused. ;)

Hello, gang:

Instead of inventing a longer day, how about simply stretching time so the days last longer?

I've just purchased (but have not yet begun to read) the book, Physics of the Impossible, by Michio Kaku (author of Hyperspace).

In the book, in addition to a variety of other subjects, I will learn about antimatter and anti-universes, faster than light, and time travel. One of these (or all of these combined) should give me some valuable insight to pass along to you all regarding the stretching of time to create a longer day.

I have other books in the queue, so don't hold your breath waiting for an answer! (Unless I discover the secret to time travel, in which case I will come back from the future and revise this post.)
