How can we add better content to the forums?

Do you think adding business writing tips, downloadable free tools (e.g. templates in MS Word, Excel or PDF files) or even free shareware programs to posts would invite too many spammers?

Maybe will add more spammers but we can fight against them. It would bring a little bit of spiciness to the forum and maybe new members. It worth trying.

People love free stuff, adding free downloads will add content to the forum and bring new members too. Some of them will be spammers, but we can fight them.

Do you mean that the links to these tips, tools and programs would point to resources on the EC main site ... or do you mean that members would be invited to post links to their free tips, tools and programs?

We would need more details on how this was to be set up or allowed, and it might create a bigger spam problem, but the idea is definitely good and worth pursuing.

If you mean what GT mentioned, then I think that would be great for the forum. Of course, as others have said, this would most likely invite a lot more spammers. You can't have the best of both worlds, though.

I think it could be good for the forum. However, you must remember that anytime you allow members to post links to programs, free tools, etc... it will bring in a load of spammers.
