I disagree with this, I believe that a quality electronic newsletter with articles delivered straight to a customers inbox is better than a blog for making more sales and promoting your business.
I say this because I never read blogs more than 1 or 2 days in a row (lack of time) but when I receive an electronic newsletter I'll usually read the entire newsletter (at a convenient time) and act on any soft promotions they have offered.
If I was reading a blog and found any hints of selling or soft promotion, I'd leave instantly and I have done this before several times before. Most blogs I come across do not entertain or educate me as much as electronic newsletters do with articles.
