Top 10 Small Business Franchises Available In Canada

With so many franchising options to choose from, sometimes it’s hard to determine what kind of franchise is right for you. Even harder still can be determining if the small business that appears to be fit for you is a strong business, because, in all honesty, every business wants to put its best foot forward to impress potential franchisees.

If you’re a Canadian businessperson looking for a new way to flex your entrepreneurial muscles and make a solid living for yourself and your family, here are some serious business opportunities to consider before making a final decision.

#1) WSI Internet

For seven straight years, WSI Internet, also known as the "White Collar Franchise," has topped Entrepreneur’s list of Internet and Technology franchises, but now it has achieved another honor, being named Fortune 500’s #1 franchise overall. Work at home franchisees with this business are trained to be some of the best internet marketing consultants in the world, offering clients a wide variety of web services and the knowhow to leverage them most effectively. This can be run as a home based business or operated out of an office location, whichever the franchisee sees fit.

#2) Profiles International

Known the world over for their exceptional products, Profiles International franchises offer their clients the most advanced human resources and employment evaluation tools available. In itself that may seem like a pithy claim, but with 35,000 companies using these tools (27 of which are in the Fortune 100), the usefulness of the company and what it provides is undeniable. Franchisees who take advantage of this business for sale also have the opportunity to do consultancy work.

#3) Rotobrush

Air duct cleanings have become increasingly popular in recent years, as people have become increasingly aware of the biological dangers of having debris pile up inside their ductwork. Rotobrush offers a safe, quick, and effective way of cleaning ducts. Only performing one to three jobs per week, some work from home operators can make up to $75,000/yr.

#4) ServiceMaster Clean

ServiceMaster Clean is one of the most widespread and well known names in the cleaning industry, having been on the market for the last 54 years. Operating a franchise under their auspices is an excellent business launching pad, affording franchisees qualified leads from an inside sales team, access to a startup coach for the first six months of operation, and a custom marketing plan.

#5) House Doctors Handyman Service

Whether you’ve had a professional history in the home repair industry or you’re coming from a background in anything else, the House Doctors Handyman Service team can give you the knowledge and preparation you need to be the successful owner and manager of a handyman business. Today nearly every age group has reason to hire others to perform remodeling work on their homes, and that has turned this sector of business into a $150bil market that this franchise business can teach you to profit from.

#6) Fresh Coat Painters

With 20 years of experience in the lucrative interior painting industry, Fresh Coat Painters franchisors can easily teach franchisees with a history in virtually any field how to turn a huge profit by painting people’s homes. Small business owners learn how to hire employees, estimate jobs, and manage an office staff, leaving the painting to someone else.

#7) Home Helpers

This is Entrepreneur’s #1 pick among Senior Care franchises and has been for the last three years. This franchisor puts everything at the fingertips of entrepreneurs interested in making a difference in the lives of seniors, families struggling with disability, and new mothers. Initial and ongoing training, a nationally recognized logo, in-house financing, and a proven system are all included in the package.

#8) National Property Inspections

Home inspection is consistently a booming business, even when home sales are down, and National Property Inspections is on the cusp of that industry, using a long history in the industry, modern technological advances, and a trustworthy work ethic to produce to strong franchise for their partners. Whether you’re a skilled inspector or even someone new to the industry, this is the choice for you: with a six-month franchisor guarantee on every home inspected, you can’t go wrong.

#9) PosiGrip

How many companies can claim clients in the restaurant, motel, theater, shopping mall, convenience store, dry cleaning, medical, nursing home, education, day care, and entertainment industries? Other than PosiGrip, not many. That’s possible because this franchise offers a business opportunity that is almost universally applicable: floor coatings that make slip-and-fall accidents almost impossible, even under wet conditions. Aside from an unending list of potential clients, franchisees are given national advertising, a local marketing system, and no royalties.

#10) Padgett Business Services

Padgett Business Services franchisees do for their clients what many small business owners don’t want to do for themselves: finances. Managing accounts, preparing taxes, and doing payroll are just a few of the services that franchisees provide to small and mid-sized business clients, but clients aren’t the only ones served in the course of transactions. Because Padgett Business Services franchisees come from a wide variety of industries, the central team is always ready and willing to help when financial problems arise that a franchisee is unable to address, making this the perfect opportunity for long-time financial pros and newcomers alike.

The choices before any potential franchisee are endless, but when it comes down to it, choices are good. The great beauty of being a franchising entrepreneur is that you have the freedom to know yourself, see the options, and choose the best of all possible combinations for success. Seek out more information and you’re certain to find the right business opportunity for you.
