Hotel franchising is a big part of the franchise industry, becoming more and more popular. If you are thinking about starting a hotel franchise, you need to give it careful thought. Hotel franchising is a lot more complicated than other franchises like fast food restaurants. Hotel franchising includes hotels, motels, inns, and other types of lodging. It can be both national and international.
If you are considering a hotel franchise, you must do a lot of research and take care to make sure that the hotel franchisor is the right one for you. Their reputation is very important.
Hotel franchises tend to be quite expensive to start-up, moreso than a fast food restaurant, because of the size of the business. In the beginning, the franchisee must bear a lot of the costs. Reputation becomes especially important at this point because the stakes are so high; the franchisee cannot afford to pick a hotel company which might not have the best reputation.
Another very important thing to consider is the amount of support the franchisor company gives to the franchisee. Some hotel companies may provide more or less support than others. You should be able to ask them for documentation about how existing hotels are managed and what their policies are. If there are existing franchises, you can find out about how those franchises are managed and what quality standards there are.
Since a hotel is such a large business compared to many other franchises, it is especially important that the franchisee pays attention to the market they want to open the franchise in and how the industry works. If you are confident in your knowledge of the market and industry, there is a good chance that your franchise will be able to grow without much support needed from the hotel company.

Not sure what you mean exactly but it is certain that more and more people want to have their own business but not more and more people know what they really want to do, or how to do it. And that's what franchising is all about. Franchising is not for an entrepreneur. An entrepreneur will do his own thing. People who buy franchises want a turn key business, with a proven model. Franchising in the US had never been that good. I don't have the exact numbers in mind but I know for sure that franchising is growing more and more as people are getting more and more aware of this business model.

Great Meeting locations
- I strive to meet professionals at their place of business.
I've given the Hotel Lobby a try and it's not bad - they do have good coffee and free Internet! I'm going to continue the practice.
I've also hand picked a few Starbucks and Tim Horton Coffee shops in the Downtown area that have great decor and are quiet to hold one on one meetings.
If I have to meet with more than two people it's usually in their Office as it's more convenient for them.
