“In the next three years, the company will have 1,000 more franchisees in major destinations in India and abroad. This initiative will provide 3,000 fresh employment opportunities. The franchisees outside Kerala will showcase ayurvedic products, especially the Vaidyaratnam brand,” Mooss added. Vaidyaratnam, with a current turnover Rs 65 crore, already has to its credit 1,000-odd retail outlets in the State. It also has branches and distribution network spread across Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra and Delhi.

There are also plans to set up in-patient treatment facilities in Bangalore, Mumbai and Delhi through alliances. The Vaidyaratnam Franchise is also expected to roll out, internationally beginning with a few Middle East nations. The franchisee will be expected to promote and retail the Ayurvedic products.

Re: Large 24" LCD & Eye Health, Good or Bad? Re: Large 24" LCD & Eye Health, Good or Bad? - I had asked my eye doctor a while back if staring at a computer screen will have any damaging affects on my eyes. As far as eye pressure and the like, it won't have any affect. There's no direct harm in it. However, if you're straining your eyes, which leads to eye fatigue, then that can be bad. I suggest adjusting the screen resolution to make things easier to see so that you don't have to strain your eyes. I notice my eyes get dry after a while also. I don't think that's hurting them any, but rather more so of an annoyance.
re: franchising mistakes re: franchising mistakes - Great list Michele. I would expand on the first point re: due diligence, to call and speak with a number of existing franchisees. In my experience, I am amazed at *some* folks lack of due diligence... It's as if they are set on the concept, and have no desire to hear other opinions. While you may get a list of references from the Franchisor, it wouldn't hurt to call a few franchisees that are not on their approved list. You may be surprised at what you learn. I can think of a handful of franchise offerings (very recognizable brands) that, upon deeper research, would reveal a darker side that would send me - and any other sane entrepreneur - running in the opposite direction. Yet there are people still buying into the franchise concept with a glazed look in their eyes.
Re: Franchise skills Re: Franchise skills - [quote="saraloves":1n1pw9z6]Why would you be looking for franchisees without technical skills? You're a computer services company, right?[/quote:1n1pw9z6] Because franchisees don't have to be the technicians. In many cases the franchisee is the "business man", here to create and grow the business, not to operate it. If you look at Subway, many of their franchisees own several stores and I can tell you they are not the one making your sandwich. They are business men.
Large 24" LCD & Eye Health, Good or Bad? Large 24" LCD & Eye Health, Good or Bad? - Greetings everyone, I recently was given a 24" ViewSonic monitor to use and was wondering if they are good for your eye health? When I started using the monitor I found my eyes had become a little sore after a while and was concerned that the bigger viewing area was having an impact on my eyes or drying them out faster. Does anyone have any information on whether large LCD monitors are in fact worse for your eyes than the smaller sized monitors, or is it all in my mind? Maybe I'll get used to the larger size but looking after my eye health is my #1 priority when working on a computer for a good part of the day.
Re: Large 24" LCD & Eye Health, Good or Bad? Re: Large 24" LCD & Eye Health, Good or Bad? - I think that the reason our eyes get dry and sore is that we then to stare at the computer screen for long periods without blinking. If one gets into the habit of blinking every little while the eyes will be more lubricated and less tired. MichelleJ
