Guest post by: Jocelyn Chavez

Article Overview: While summer is supposed to be a carefree season, it can also be a busy time of year as people juggle travel plans and parties, as well as welcoming out-of-town guests and entertaining children who are out of school. For time-crunched professionals, partaking in quintessential summer activities can require precise planning rather than spontaneity. In an effort to recapture the fleeting freedom of summer and spend more time enjoying the season, rather than toiling away at dreaded chores, many people rely on home services businesses such as home improvement, landscaping and cleaning franchises that keep homes in tip-top, “guest-ready” shape.

Home Services Franchises that help Today’s Families Make the Most of the Summer Season Flourish

With summer approaching, thoughts naturally turn to relaxing outside and spending time with friends and family. While summer is supposed to be a carefree season, it can also be a busy time of year as people juggle travel plans and parties, as well as welcoming out-of-town guests and entertaining children who are out of school. For time-crunched professionals, partaking in quintessential summer activities, like spending a day at the beach, wiling away a summer afternoon with a good book and throwing impromptu barbecues, can require precise planning rather than spontaneity. In an effort to recapture the fleeting freedom of summer and spend more time enjoying the season, rather than toiling away at dreaded chores, many people rely on home services businesses such as home improvement, landscaping and cleaning franchises that keep homes in tip-top, "guest-ready" shape.

Taking the Stress out of Summer- Outsourcing Household Chores Provides a Taste of Easy Summertime Living

Relaxing and enjoying downtime can be difficult when mounting to-do lists and neglected household projects are calling. That's why many consumers who lack the time, ability or desire to perform household repairs and cleaning themselves, turn to trusted professionals. From extensive remodeling projects, to minor repairs, building and remodeling franchises and handyman businesses provide homeowners with much-needed services. And with children on summer break, families out of town and grilling weather enabling people to make due with a kitchen that's under construction, home repair and renovation franchises often experience an uptick in demand during the summer months.

As more homeowners choose to renovate their homes, rather than move into a new home, the interest in remodeling services continues to grow. In fact, the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) estimates that residential remodeling is a nearly $300 billion industry in the U.S. Home renovation and remodeling franchise concepts offer aspiring business owners the chance to become part of the lucrative remodeling industry. Neither previous construction experience, nor business ownership experience is typically necessary to qualify, as owners of home remodeling and renovation franchises often focus on growing the business and managing a team of professionals who execute the remodeling projects.

Cleaning franchises often feature similar business models that allow franchise owners to concentrate on marketing and managing the business while a staff performs the cleaning. Residential cleaning concepts usually feature professional, Monday through Friday hours, no nights and no weekends; and provide prospective business owners with the opportunity to join a lucrative, multi-billion dollar industry that is experiencing high demand.

The U.S. Department of Commerce estimates that 80% of two-income households will use professional, outside housecleaning services. And with summer ushering in a flurry of out-of-town visitors and summer soirees, reliance on residential cleaning services grows. Entertaining necessitates a considerable amount of pre- and post-party clean-up and since most people prefer to be soaking up the sun, rather than scrubbing floors, on sunny summer days, cleaning franchises that help keep homes in pristine condition enjoy significant repeat business.

Lawn care is another perpetual chore that threatens to interfere with summertime fun, and is frequently outsourced to professionals. Well-maintained, meticulously landscaped lawns serve as the perfect backdrop for backyard barbecues, but getting and keeping lawns in stellar condition often requires the expert services that lawn care and landscaping franchises provide. In fact, the overwhelming reliance on professional lawn care services has spawned an approximately $50 billion a year industry in the U.S., according to Research and Markets' 2010 U.S. Landscaping Services Industry Report.

Whether you'd like to own a lawn care franchise, a home improvement concept, or a cleaning business, a wide-range of home services franchises provide you with the opportunity to own a rewarding, in-demand business that caters to the needs of today's busy homeowners.

The "Young" Apprentice The "Young" Apprentice - I think a cool new idea for "The Apprentice" would be to have all young contestants, rather than just selling sex (e.g. Season 6 in Los Angeles) or using celebrities for ratings. Maybe every applicant for the show would have to be between the ages of 15 to 18 or 18 to 22, since there've been seasons where younger contestants have been stereotyped and discriminated against for their age and limited business inexperience (e.g. Lee Bienstock in Season 5). So why not make the stomping ground fair? Why not have an Apprentice Season where only talented youngsters fight over a job with Trump? I mean, it gets kind of boring hearing the contestants say "I'm older and have more business experience than so and so.... and that's the reason you should hire me Mr. Trump." That's a ridiculous argument because many youths are smarter and more successful than people even twice their age.
Help me name my moms business Help me name my moms business - I think Infinity Cleaning Services sounds better than Elite Cleaning Solutions... Why the Solutions? What is there to be solved? You simply get a rag with some Windex on it and wipe away.... plug the vacuum and Vac Away, get a mop and mop away. Stick to Infinity Cleaning Services... ICS sounds cool...
Apprentice Apprentice - You're right Kevin - Season 1 was the best - but I'm a sucker for business television shows so I'll watch the next Apprentice!

This is your opportunity to make the most important decision you will ever make. Forget your past. Who are you now? Who have you decided you really are now? Don't think about who you have been. Who are you now? Who have you decided to become? Make this decision consciously. Make it carefully. Make it powerfully. regards, Mal.
