Massage Therapy: A Perfect Gift...An Ideal Industry

It's the most wonderful time of the year...or is it? With high expectations for creating lasting memories, compounded by shopping for gifts, decorating, traveling, attending holiday events and hosting gatherings, the holiday season can be a joyous, yet, stressful time of the year for many people. Stress takes a tremendous toll on the body and can contribute to the development of a host of health conditions. Growing acceptance of the power of the mind-body connection has led to increased focus on the importance of employing stress-reduction techniques.

Massage therapy is one of the most popular choices for stress relief. According to a 2010 consumer survey conducted by the American Massage Therapy Association's® (AMTA®), 40 percent of Americans are getting massages to relieve stress.

Treating yourself to a massage can provide a much-needed respite this time of year. And a gift certificate for a massage makes an ideal present for those hard-to-shop-for people on your list.

The widespread appeal and popularity of massage therapy has contributed to the industry's rise. The AMTA estimates that in 2009, massage therapy was a $16-20 billion industry, and demand for massage therapy is expected to continue to climb.

If, in addition to searching for gifts this time of year, you're also exploring business ownership, you may be interested in learning about the massage therapy concepts and spa and wellness-related franchises and business opportunities that are available. Previous industry experience typically isn't necessary to qualify. And with consumers becoming increasingly interested in improving their health and well-being, while juggling mounting responsibilities, now is an opportune time to join the lucrative massage therapy industry.

Re: Twitter releasing real time analytics Re: Twitter releasing real time analytics - Hi Evan, Thanks you for the heads up on that, it will be interesting to see how the analytics works out but Twitter has had to evolve pretty quickly to keep pace with the requirements of the Industry so I suppose it was a natural development. regards, Mal.
Seems we've got a spammer... Seems we've got a spammer... - Shoe Perfect is going around posting ads for his site... I'm thinking rather than having a wait before somoene can post again, have a 24-hour delay from the time someone joins, to the time they can post? That might deter people who just want to "hit and run"... in a way that the post-again delay might not.
