Business Ownership vs. Employment

When researching business opportunities and franchises some people struggle with whether they are better off working for someone else until retirement or going into business for themselves.

In the beginning, it seems like working for someone else is the safer option. In reality, the longer you are employed, the greater your insecurity. Ask yourself these questions:

• Can you be sure your job will be there next year? Or even tomorrow?

• Will your excellent performance determine stability?

• Can you ease off once you're established?

• Can you meet your long term financial goals of security and retirement?

Business ownership does have its risks; however, the longer you own a business, the safer it becomes. If you own your own business:

• No one can take it away

• You can't be downsized, transferred or fired

• You can build a large or small business

• You can grow a business, ease off, or continue as YOU see fit!

• You can sell the business

Why would one want to own a business? Here's what most people say:

• Security against a volatile job market

• Time for family and interests

• Independence and control

• Challenge, recognition, prestige

• Building equity for retirement

Why don't more people own their own business?

• Success is not guaranteed - there is risk

• Businesses cost money to start

• Running a business takes talent and skill

Deciding whether or not business ownership is right for you is a huge life decision and should not be taken lightly. Be sure to carefully research all of your options to ensure you make the best decision for you!

I don’t know about b2b marketing but I have done marketing so know things about it. I will suggest you to take online services which will spread your business all over web network. Online marketing is the best way to market any business.[/quote:428owzbi] B2B = Business to Business - You are marketing to other businesses. B2C = Business to Consumer - You are marketing to consumers.

A new study based on four years of data from men and women in a training program for microenterprises finds that they come out the same in quality scores. "However, women scored significantly better on the presentation of their plan to judges," conclude the study's authors, Ronald G. Cook, Paul Belliveau, and Christine Lentz of Rider University, in a paper presented at a recent meeting of the Small Business Institute. [/quote:ka7lg35i] What do you guys think?
