Online Learning

Many companies and groups have begun to use the internet for online training, instructional webinars for continuing education or distributing information on new products or services. This replaces the more costly live training at company headquarters or in the field by staff.

Franchisors are continually seeking new and better ways to improve their customer service, to retain and attract new customers and improve employee capabilities, especially with the current recession. Staff training at both the franchisor and franchisee level is paramount so that the brand can continue to deliver on its promises at each location.

Online programs generally offer a wide variety of management tools focusing on everything from operations, communications, financial management to franchise sales development and training.

Benefits of online training include:

• Cost effectiveness

• Consistency of message

• Accessibility

• Secure access

• Tracking capabilities

• Constant automatic updates

• Material can be written in multiple languages

Small business owners (franchisees) can utilize online training for their new employees, continuing education for managers, updating staff on new policies and procedures, industry changes, implementing changes mandated by franchisors, and countless other applications.

The development and implementation of online communication and management platforms has been one of the most important improvements to franchise systems and is essential for every brand, regardless of its size or maturity.

Re: My Favourite 7 Boldest Entrepreneur Moves of All Time Re: My Favourite 7 Boldest Entrepreneur Moves of All Time - Hi Evan, I have a new suggestion for "Boldest Entrepreneur Moves of All Time" and a suggestion for your Learning from the Masters series: 1. Boldest Entrepreneur Moves of All Time = Christopher Columbus: "... he saw the possibility of treasure and commerce where others saw only danger. He committed so wholeheartedly to that vision that not even dozens of rejections and ongoing penury could dissuade him from pursuing a journey to Asia via the West. He built on his technical strengths as a seaman to plan a viable journey and eventually marshal an expedition." - Christopher Hoenig, 6 Essential Secrets for Thinking on a New Level I bought Hoenig's book about 10 years ago but couldn't make head or tail of it then... reading it now and finding it inspirational... 2. Re: Kevin's Case Study #11 - A New Forum Category? - [quote:31qpen1j]This is just my opinion, but I consider the prospective categories, Online Marketing, Internet Marketing and Online Promotion, as being pretty much one and the same - just different words that different people use.[/quote:31qpen1j] I completely agree! Those are all just "internet marketing" as far as I am concerned. And I normally would have voted for internet marketing, however I chose social media marketing simply because there are more than enough IM forums out there already.
