Defining a Part-Time Franchise

One of the best ways to secure financial freedom and to become successful in entrepreneurship is to buy a franchise. Franchises from various industries are immense in number, and these appeal to individuals who have different sets of skills and interests. Even though most companies require full-time attention, there are many opportunities for people who can only give a few hours each day or a couple of days a week to run and manage their own businesses. A part-time franchise provides almost the same benefits as any full-time business. This generally includes a widely recognized brand representation, extensive training, as well as tried-and-tested sales and marketing system. You do not need to limit your dreams and hopes of earning an independent income just because your available time is limited.

What are some Franchises for Moms?

A stay-at-home mom can also become a work-at-home mom by finding the right part-time franchise business. The following are some elements you need to consider when looking for the best possible work-at-home opportunities:

• Single operator - Look for businesses you can manage on your own or with one employee.

• Simple solutions - Stay away from complicated businesses that require a lot of knowledge or experience in the industry you are not too familiar with.

• Cheap yet worthy - Since you work on a part-time basis, it is best to go for a franchise with low upfront costs, as this can ensure decent profit margins.

• Outsourced promotions - A lot of franchisors handle all marketing and advertising tasks. With this setup, you get to spend more time running your business.

• Reputed brand - Find a high profile service or product, the ones that many consumers recognize for quality. You are very much ahead of the game if the parent company already has a solid customer base.

• Ongoing support - The franchisor should have an excellent rating with the Better Business Bureau. It should also have a stable and positive track record of dealing with its franchisees.

There are several types of work available for moms. One is work that you can do at home. This could be telephone sales work, consulting, or a daycare. Another suitable part-time franchise for moms is a mobile-based business, where hours are highly flexible. This type of franchise also gives you the chance to get out of the house as often as you need to. Among the best examples of a mobile-based franchise are dog walking, computer and IT consulting, catering, and business card designing.

Advantages of Work-at-Home Jobs for Moms

Home-based jobs for moms offer a lot of free time for your family and friends. As such, you can be at home whenever you need to. Simply devote hours for work when the kids are in school or napping, depending, of course, on their age and the level of personal attention they require. There are some moms working at home who even join a babysitting co-op, where trusted personnel takes care of the kids while the entrepreneur mom goes about their daily responsibilities.

Are Part-Time Franchises Worth the Money and Time?

Some experts say that part-time franchise owners find it difficult to earn a reasonable income. You should not expect to get rich by just working part-time. Any seller who tells you otherwise is clearly dishonest, though this business setup is a perfect groundwork for a profitable second career. Starting a business when your kids are still young is a good means to earn additional income today, but the best benefit of all is to create a successful business from part-time work. Just use your off hours wisely, and you will surely have a successful business before you know it.

Re: Trade Shows - Are They Worth It? Re: Trade Shows - Are They Worth It? - HI, I have used trade shows (not participated) to collect potential clients. For example, the Home & Garden Industry is extremely behind the time in regards to their websites. I attended an Home & Garden Expo in Denver and collected all the companies contact information. I plan on cold calling & mailing information to each business. It also gave me time to research the industry more, talk directly to the owners in many cases, and learn more about what they need.
