Who is really setting the trends for hair extensions ?

Article Overview: We have seen the rise and rise of hair extensions, especially when Celebrity big brothers winner Chantelle Houghton, showed off her hair extensions to a lot of impressionable girls when she spent several weeks in the big brother house. I have to say they didn't look so good all the time.

Who is really setting the trends for hair extensions ?

We have heard all types of comments, some complimentary and others more scathing. As more and more women stampede for the must-have hair extensions, they want to emulate the look of some of their favourite celebrities.

But are women really that shallow?

Would they put on a black plastic bag over their head if Victoria Beckham decided to wear one for a week?

We see one or two hair extension techniques taking the forefront lead. Victoria Beckham, Jordan and even Jennifer Aniston have used what is know as the strand by strand hot bond hair fusion technique, but what is it exactly? why is it so popular and what makes the media report that hair extensions damage your hair?

Recently it was reported that Kate Beckinsale, Victoria Beckham and Christina Aguilera have all been spotted with temporary bald patches caused by their hair extensions. Don't these women get stressed like the rest of us and sometimes lose their hair?

Well wouldn't it be interesting to know that in Ancient Civilazation way back in Egypt, Greece, Rome, the East, China, Japan, Africa and America hair extension and enhancement systems where in place for both men and women to aid beauty, rituals, status and even for health and safty reasons. (such as the prevention of head lice)

We can even track hair enhancement and extensions through the Renaissance, Elizabethan and the Victorian time. And that is not avoiding the 1920's, 1940's 1950's and 1960 with a wave of differnet hair peices which were attached in various ways.

In this socieity, even if you have it and you want more or less, the idea is to fake it! Hair, teeth, boobs, thighs, nails and so the list goes on.

So when Victoria decided to remove her hair extensions, did we see a dramatic drop in the hair supply industry? No. The reason being that many people today just don't want their hair extended because they want to have long hair, it's because most people are living longer, their hair and nails often cannot withstand the previous demands that was placed on it during their youth, so they suffer with thinning, lifeless hair that just won't grow.

All around us we are taught to take control, to empower our self esteem, go out and get what you want and make yourself look and feel better.

As a result of this, the hair extension and enhancement sector is growing. The demand for professionally trained hair enhancement technicians with more than one hair extension technique is far a few between.

Like any new budding service industry, an opportunity exist for those who want to change their career or up skill to move into a profitable service where a demand exists.

The first National hair extension and enhancement studio is opening in March 2007 offering training in over 10 different hair extension techniques. I don't think the celebrities are setting the trend, most of them are already rich, but the new trends are temporary makeovers or faking it, which is what they all do most of the time. It is not exclusive to them anymore, most normal every day hard working ladies want to also invest in make overs to empower and bring a little bit of new energy into their life. Just take a look at the growth of the cosmetic sector. I bet you know someone who has recently paid a visit... I rest my case.

I had a PR of 1 and ranked 150 or so nationally but nothing really on a local level. My extensions were not good with my prior theme either. They were like tobuso.com/ccprocess instead of tobuso.com/credit-card-processing which they are now. So maybe I lost some google juice because the extensions changed. But, how long will it take to recover and how long will it take to start ranking nationally if I keep up the blogging, link building, smm, ect?

She's been cutting hair for 20 years, and used to manage a Great Clips, and her opinion on franchising a salon (such as a Great Clips) is that it's not worth it. Unless you have your own salon, so you can set your own limits for advertising and what to buy, you don't really make any money at it. Course that's just hair...but in today's economy especially, who knows how many mothers are now cutting the hair of everyone in their family!
Get some media exposure - Hi Don, Is the new initiative cutting edge enough to get some good media coverage? It can often be hard to reach the hobbyists but they do often keep up to date with the latest trends and innovations through industry magazines. With Redasoft we received some great press coverage that helped sell our products to our market of research scientists. Magazines are also always looking for a good story and want to stay on top of developing trends. Have you considered going for some media attention?

After I bought it, I tried a dozen or so variations and all taken even the info extensions etc. BTW, I put a link on the temporary page to this post, never know.....might get some action before long.
Helping Businesses Grow - Over the years, I've been hired by a number of businesses for the purpose of fixing the existing problems, reorganizing the business and training existing or new employees to do a better job. The problem I faced with some of these people is that they want to experience and ability, but they want to pay for an entry level person.
