When you're thinking of taking a new job, things like growth potential, flexibility and overall enjoyment are likely major players in your decision. The aforementioned attributes are also some of the top factors in why people decide to become franchise owners. Here are the top 10 reasons why you should become one, as well:
10. The Community: Owning a franchise is great for the community you're based in. It means more tax dollars, another business and economic growth. Plus, you can get involved with the community and help grow your business through networking and sponsoring events.
9. Hire Your People: We'll get into this more in a little bit, but as a franchise owner, you're kind of your own boss. So you can hire your own people. You can put together your employee "dream team."
8. Set a Precedent: Franchises are about more than just making money. You can also be a trendsetter for the area in other ways, such as promoting recycling, eco-friendly construction, etc. These initiatives help potential customers view your business in a more positive light, which makes them more likely to do business with you.
7. Set your own Hours: Are you a morning person or do you do your best work in the afternoons or evenings? You are the boss, so you set the hours.
6. Establishment: Chances are you became a franchise owner either because you were passionate about a certain company or the company is highly successful. If you became a franchise owner based on both of these reasons, it's even better. If the sky is the limit for your franchise and you're passionate about the businesses, you're on a road to success. And being that franchises are already established entities, that bodes well for you, as well.
5. Enjoyment: Piggybacking after No. 7, you likely chose to become a franchise owner because you enjoy the company or have a passion about it. Studies have shown that if you are happy and generally enjoy doing something, you'll be more successful at it. And nothing beats a job that doesn't feel like "a job."
4. Support: A good training program will never leave you hanging. You'll get training support, marketing assistance and operational advice and assistant. Bottom line is that when you buy into a franchise, you're now a part of the family and corporate's success is influenced by your success. A good franchise will do everything to ensure your success.
3. Leave When You Want: You purchased the franchise, so that means that someone else also can. If you've run a successful business and want to retire, the buyers should be lining up.

But the best thing about being a franchise owner is that your business goes how you go. And how the ceiling is incredibly high for how much you can profit off of being a franchise owner. So you see, a franchise owner really is sort of a dream job.
