Papa Murphy's Franchise Among the Best

You may be wondering why a take-n-bake pizza place appears in the #32 slot on Entrepreneur Magazine's Top 500 Franchises list, but we don't. That's because we know that Papa Murphy's has a low initial investment, low overhead, a huge fan base and tons of potential for success.

Papa Murphy's initial investment is smaller than most pizza chains because the owners don't need to buy big conventional ovens that other pizza joints have to. That's because these pizzas are freshly frozen and picked up to be baked at home. Similarly, the owners of Papa Murphy's don't have to supply places for people to sit and eat. It is an in-and-out kind of establishment, which makes them ultra-convenient for the customer and the workers. Because there is no delivery, that's another cost you don't have to account for.
The pizza is delicious at Papa Murphy's and that is why they have such a loyal fan base. As soon as a Papa Murphy's franchise pops up in the neighborhood, people know what to expect--delicious pizza with the best quality of ingredients. This is what will keep them coming back to your store. In short, if you build it, they will come.
Lastly, the Papa Murphy's chain doesn't have to stay open late into the night to compete with other pizza chains. This means that you will have the opportunity to have a lucrative restaurant business without being a slave to your store. You can still get home at a decent hour and spend time with your family.
These are among the few great reasons why Papa Murphy's got a Top 50 spot on Entrepreneur's Franchise 500 List. So if you're looking to own a restaurant franchise but do not want the insane time commitment, Papa Murphy's could be the perfect solution for you and your family.

Re: Info for would be franchisers... Re: Info for would be franchisers... -
Like Franchise Times, Franchise Update is a very practical magazine. There is no blah blah, just straight facts that anyone in the franchise community can relate to. I just want to mention that all these magazines are NOT franchisee oriented. I mean these magazines are for franchise professionals. If you're looking to buy a franchise, you won't find much information in there. To answer your question, getting published in Franchise Times was fairly easy. I don't want to brag too much but I think I am known in the franchise industry. I was the marketing guy at Franchise.com for a few years before joining my new company, the World Franchising Network. So people know me and I have a very good relationship with Nancy Weingartner, the Managing Editor at Franchise Times. I was talking with her at the last Franchise Expo South in Miami and she mentioned she'd like me to be profiled. I was like "ok, sure!". I like this franchise executive profile thing in Franchise Times as it is rarely BS. People are usually really natural in there.[/quote:1d29sdv1] Thanks for the follow up Sebastien! And I can't say that I'm surprised that networking with the right people and managing your relationships with them properly are the keys to being published. I guess the old adage holds true of "it's not who you know, but who knows you" that's important.
Re: Top Franchises For 2007 Re: Top Franchises For 2007 -
Entrepreneur came out with a list of the top franchises for 2007. They are: 1. Subway 2. Dunkin' Donuts 3. Jackson Hewitt Tax Service 4. 7-Eleven Inc. 5. UPS Store, The/Mail Boxes Etc. 6. Domino's Pizza LLC 7. Jiffy Lube Int'l. Inc. 8. Sonic Drive In Restaurants 9. McDonald's 10. Papa John's Int'l. Inc. It still seems to be dominated by food companies (70% of the list!) Can non-food companies make it as a successful franchise?[/quote:3anvjxpw] Could be the convenience factor. I live in a reasonably small town, yet we have an unreal number of restaurants and there are so many restaurant franchises. All the food businesses shown in the top 10 are fast food and with Domino's and Papa John's, they even bring dinner to your door. Everyone eats - and more people seem to eat out all the time. Shri
how much for a franchise fee? how much for a franchise fee? - Dear Colleague There is no easy answer to this question. Things to consider:
The sizeof the Franchise Clent base Expected Turnover Intellectual Property costs (recoup) Number of Franchises Number of employees Original Set up costs Franchise admin costs An example: A franchise that I was involved in setting was to a simple "lawn mowing/home repair" franchise. The Franchise included national/local advertising - preparation of client lists - general admin - central accounting etc The Franchise involved 300-500 clients - and an annual turnover of about $300,000 . The annual franchise fee was $30,000. Hope that this gives you some idea Take care Ian
Re: Franchise Surveys Re: Franchise Surveys - Another good tool to researching a franchise is to speak with their existing franchisees. This contact information is included in most Franchise Disclosure Documents. In order to get a Franchise Disclosure Document or FDD as it is often referred to, you will have to complete a basic franchise application. The franchisor will then usually provide you with the FDD at that time. Included in that book of information is a list of the existing franchisees, the contract, the investment information etc... This information is required by Federal Law to be disclosed to your prior to making a purchase. So be sure to do your research and start with the Franchise Documents to get the initial information.
