There are lots of business plan examples on the internet available for download. Some of these plans are easy to follow while others can be a little complicated. We will look at the advantages and disadvantages of using business plan examples available to the entrepreneur online and maybe help you make a choice that would be best for you.

The average business plan will have the same key elements. This is important for consistency sake. Think about it from an investor's standpoint; they see many business plans and having the same format, more or less, will save them a lot of time, effort and more than a few questions. These are busy people and will not think twice about rejecting your proposal based on a business plan that does not meet the basic requirements. That is to say, the following:

• Executive Summary
• Company Analysis
• Industry Analysis
• Customer Analysis
• Identify the Competition
• Marketing Plan
• Operations Plan
• Management Team
• Financial Plan

Without these as a guideline, any business plan examples you might find would be useless. While it is absolutely true that there are plenty of examples one can follow and use, they must all include these sections in addition to any specialty section in order to be a successful business plan.

Finding a plan as an example that is close to your own business will save you a lot of time and hassle. There are more than many examples on the internet for free that will show you a business plan for everything from how to run a liquidation business to how to open and maintain a fruit stand. (Yes, I found one.) When you take into consideration that there is just that much diversity in the examples out there, the possibility of finding an example is definitely not remote. I am nearly tempted to say that there could be three of four basic business plans out there; direct sales, indirect sales, services and manufacturing/production, but I won't go that far. If it seems like I did, then just ignore the last sentence, it's just a theory. But if one were to look at that theory they would see that their own business would fall into one, possibly two of those broad categories.

Finding an example of a business plan that will come closest to your own business will give you some ideas as to how best to write your own business plan. But remember, these are just examples, cutting and pasting a business plan and changing the names will most likely not get you anywhere. Also remember to look at several plans along the same lines. Comparison of these plans and these styles and taking what you liked about the different examples will help you to best express your business' individuality. This is very important when you think about how you went into business or are thinking of going into business to be your own person. It might take a little digging, but if you have the above elements and your own personal passion invested you have a great opportunity to write a powerful business plan.

Business Innovation - Hi Simon If you can finish off the Business Plan and think about your strategic direction or how you are going to use your product to convince people it's a great idea, it will set the foundation for your programming project. You see, when you are looking for funding you will need a Business Plan and Strategic Plan that will convince companies to invest into your new idea. Has anyone achieved this idea before using another industry besides health and fitness that you know of? You should also design some mockups as a "preview" for your programming project. This will also help reduce your programming costs as everyone will know exactly what you want if you have detailed mockups already completed including any functionality you require. Starting mockups for websites and software applications on paper is the best way if you're not a guru in graphic editing software.

It is unfortunate that these types of errors, the most basic of errors as you point out here are common to too many business plans, having reviewed a few hundred myself from both a development and funding perspective. The Best Business Books Ever: The 100 Most Influential Business Books You'll Never Have Time to Read - this is a fascinating book about the history of Business theory, and I'd recommend it to anybody. 2. The Big Book of Small Business: You Don't Have to Run Your Business by the Seat of Your Pants, by Tom Gegax. Ditto. 3. PADI: The Business of Diving Book Okay, so this book won't be of use to anyone who doesn't want to start a scuba store, but I did, and this book was of course invaluable to me in reaching that goal.
