A good free business plan example is not that hard to find. A lot of the chosing relies on stylistic preferences. However, some are better than other for ease of reading and the ability for the reader to get the information they need as quickly as possible. This important when you realize that potential investors see business plans all the time and do not want to spend a lot of their time going through a plan to pick out the information they need. It’s not just a question of investors being able to process the information you are providing in an efficient manner either, other readers should be able to get the points you are driving home in a concise format as well.

While there is some fluff (very minimal) involved in a good business plan, there has to be some sort of organization to it. A free business plan example that does not cover all aspects of your business or lingers too much on an aspect that doesn’t readily apply to your business should be avoided. For example, let’s say you are running a lemonade stand, I have no idea why you’d be doing that, but hey, we all have our niches. The business plan for your lemonade stand would still have to touch on the process of making lemonade, your suppliers and your marketing strategy. But chances are, unless you are making lemonade for NASA or Jenny Craig, you would not spend as much time on the manufacturing process or suppliers as say a custom snowboarding business. In this way a simple free business plan example would fail you. The key is to stay flexible within the confides of pretty rigid criteria.

This is not excuse for sluffing off the sections no one likes doing either. Your business plan is probably one of the first and hardest steps you should be taking with your business, whether you have backers or not. Finding a free business plan example that suits your business aspirations and adapting it to your personal business style and strategy is definitely something that will require you to be on task and on point.

A couple of suggestions would be to look at several plans that could apply to your particular niche and compare them. Use common elements and emphasize them while possibly expanding on the not so common elements you like. This should give you a rounded plan with a personal touch.

If you are not much of a writer or uncomfortable writing, outsourcing your plan is an option as well. However, you should still write your own business plan and allow someone else to polish it. Hiring a professional to do your business plan for you is a lot like hiring someone else to raise your children; they might be yours when all is said and done, but you will still be looking at something you created, but did not mold and shape.

Government websites and even some financial institutions will often provide a free business plan example, take advantage of these whenever possible, they are resources that are there to help you on your way. Remember that this is your long term plan and in some ways shows your dedication to your business and your success.

You see, when you are looking for funding you will need a Business Plan and Strategic Plan that will convince companies to invest into your new idea. Has anyone achieved this idea before using another industry besides health and fitness that you know of? You should also design some mockups as a "preview" for your programming project. This will also help reduce your programming costs as everyone will know exactly what you want if you have detailed mockups already completed including any functionality you require. Starting mockups for websites and software applications on paper is the best way if you're not a guru in graphic editing software.

It is unfortunate that these types of errors, the most basic of errors as you point out here are common to too many business plans, having reviewed a few hundred myself from both a development and funding perspective. The Big Book of Small Business: You Don't Have to Run Your Business by the Seat of Your Pants, by Tom Gegax. Ditto. 3. PADI: The Business of Diving Book Okay, so this book won't be of use to anyone who doesn't want to start a scuba store, but I did, and this book was of course invaluable to me in reaching that goal.
