Referral Network Marketing

Guest post by: Zeeman Haus

Article Overview: Referral network marketing might be one of the most underrated marketing strategies in business right now. In an age with twitter and Google Adwords, slick commercial campaigns and YouTube being the norm, people often forget about word of mouth and a simple business card. Having something tangible in someone’s hands has been replaced by “hey, check out my site.” I’m not saying this is a bad thing, far from it, but don’t neglect one tool because the others look so new. Referral network marketing might be one of the most underrated marketing strategies in business right now. Even astronauts carry a hammer (it’s a nice one that cost the taxpayers $25,000, but it’s still a hammer).

Referral network marketing is about branding yourself, branding your business, and having your current contacts make leads for you. In short, it’s about looking good enough that people will talk about you to others and spread the word about you and your service. In my mind there are five points that are good starting points in referral network marketing and it just so happens that I am going to list them for you.

· Confidence is the first starting point. Know your product and/or service like no one else and be able to anticipate even the most off the wall question someone might through at you. This builds your credibility with your current customers.

· Sales Sales Sales. You might be a plumber for all it matters or a freelance fruit picker, but you still need to sell your most prized product; yourself. Show your value to your customers whenever possible. If at all possible try to concentrate on that added value perception that will take a little of your time but add to the uniqueness of your service and make it stand out in your customers’ minds. Banks used to give out candy at the drive through…. See why?

· Increase you reputation with your current customers by tailoring your services to meet their needs. A cookie cutter operation is nice and will allow you to better budget, but the real money is in future business which is easier to get with referrals from customers who feel like they have had a “custom” experience

· Offer a customer incentive plan is another option as well. Depending on your market segment this might be regulated, however letting your current and past customer know you depend on leads based on their referrals for future business is a plus. Offering them an incentive is often a good thing and helps increase your credibility across the board.

· The final tip is accessibility. Making sure your customers have access to you beyond a crumpled business card or jotted down web address is a great idea. Pens, refrigerator magnets and even the occasional keychain sounds hokey, but it’s your contact information close at hand. Remember that.

The beauty of referral network marketing is simply that a majority of your customer probably don’t know as many people as you do individually. The thing is as a collective group, they know more potential customers than you can possibly reach on your own without a major investment. Another aspect is that word of above average service and value perception is viral; the more people you service, the more people will advertise for you.

Why do people hate Network Marketing / MLM? Why do people hate Network Marketing / MLM? - I've been looking at a number of different opportunities and end up meeting a lot of Network Marketing / Multi-Level Marketing people. Some of the offers look interesting but everyone I talk to about it says to avoid these guys like the plague - what's the deal? Why do people hate network marketers and MLM people so much? Is it not legit?
Re: MLM Marketing, youtube, and buzzirk mobile. Re: MLM Marketing, youtube, and buzzirk mobile. - I have experience with MLM too. My initial reaction to the business was "snake-oil salesman" but once I got to understand the "overall business model" I am now an advocate to it. MLM (Multi-Level Marketing) is also known as Network Marketing. I realized an MLM business is no different than any other business. One needs to focus on both words "Network" and "Marketing" and give both equal respect. Some people focus heavily on the Networking part but forget "Marketing". I've started to use Building on a Budget and Magnetic Sponsoring concepts in my NM business and have found that people don't get involved so much because of the product but more because of what you bring to the table as far as marketing systems and support. I have both products listed in my signature. you don't have to buy it as the link to the free videos itself provides you a good understanding of what is required to position yourself as my above paragraph. If you do plan on purchasing it I can tell you that the measly $40 will open your eyes BUT your upline will not be too happy (atleast in the short term) beacuse the system is not duplicateable. I wrote this post as a polar post to Bulmer's reply as I have exhausted the friends and family networking and realized i never really focused on marketing. My leads now are more qualified and open to hearing about my opportunity than the other way around. my 2 cents if you plan on growing an MLM or Networking Marketing business.
Network Marketing Business Network Marketing Business - Hello all, Recently, I had join a Network Marketing Business on a part-time basis. Does anyone here who has some knowledge on this type of business? I want to learn as fast as I can from all the gurus here
10 best franchises to get involved 10 best franchises to get involved - My advice is: 1) Go to the library and start reading business books (accounting, finance, etc.) 2) Go to your local community college and enroll in night classes 3) Join the local Chamber of Commerce 4) Network / Network / Network -- through the above sources. Once you have spent two years doing the above, then look for a 55 - 60 year old business person that is looking to reduce their time in the business. Then you can work on a sweetheart financing option.
Re: answer this question Re: answer this question - This is a good topic. I haven't done anything, yet, to seriously damage my business. I did shift gear though. It was the best decision I ever made. For me, affiliate marketing was not working. Making the switch to Network Marketing made all the difference.
