How Do You Spell Green Travel? B-W-C

Have you heard of the Better World Club? Sure you have, probably referred to as “that green AAA.” But do you know much beyond that? I didn’t, until today. I was speaking to Erik Nelson today and I found the depth and breadth of their service to be quite amazing. I recommend you look into it for your personal and company travel needs. Why? Well let me tell you:

They start with all the things you’re probably familiar with at AAA - roadside assistance, travel discounts, and the like. Then they go further then that. Much. Case in point: They offer bicycle roadside service! Yes, either as a standalone service, or bundled with your auto membership, they’ll come out and take care of your two-wheeled needs. And when you’re in need of a new bike or some accessories for it, or even need a hand taking it traveling, you get discounts on all of the above.

Back to travel of the four wheeled variety, they offer insurance. So what’s so green about that? To start, they offset the first ton of your vehicle’s emissions for free. Need to rent a car? You get 5-15% discount on a hybrid rental. They are also strongly in support of innovative, real world applicable, environmentally beneficial, “pay as you drive” insurance. And how is this beneficial to the environment? As they say on their site:

"Studies in the U.S. show that if auto insurance was priced by the mile, drivers would be more likely to reduce their mileage as much as 20%. Because automobiles are the single largest contributor to greenhouse gas emissions, this would mean a significant reduction in these harmful pollutants."

And it saves you money, letting you take control of costs. Perfect.

Anything else to know? Yes. They advocate for a cleaner environment, on a policy level. And they encourage and give you ways to take action too, via their “Driving Change” and “Kicking Asphalt” newsletters. No passive passengers on the road of life, they are your allies in a healthful way of thinking about and going traveling.

Speaking of traveling, they also offer the expected discounts, including 10-15% off rentals of hybrid cars. Ah, but they keep going, to include travel booking, of which $1 of each one goes towards environmental cleanup and advocacy. And you can offset your airline travel. Ever feel overwhelmed by the search for just the right itinerary, accommodations, and price? They have that covered too, for a reasonable amount, with two built-in offsets.

Businesses, are you feeling so inspired you want to have your whole fleet under the Better World Club wings? They’ve got that too.

Is there anything they don’t cover, in regards to transportation? Yes, you have to go on the trips yourself. Ah, the sacrifices we make!

Baby Boomers, Life Support and Trading Down, however, seem like good markets. As for Green technology goes, I don't think the business has to be entirely based on Green ideologies, but rather a business that embrace Green philosophies and use that as a marketing tool.
Re: Looking for business partners in travel and telecom areas Re: Looking for business partners in travel and telecom areas - Michael, In order to help I would need more detail. Travel and Telecom are pretty broad categories. I develop and design websites and I could help but not without a lot more information on what niche's your targeting. For example are you trying to just target people in and around Chicago or the whole United States.
Re: Are you a Blue, Red, or Green? Re: Are you a Blue, Red, or Green? - Hum... a lot of reds responding... Business owners must be a very aggressive community. Now, I was surprised when I took the course personally to find out I was a Green, secondary Blue. Of course, not believing this, the first thing I did was turn to those around me to get their opinions on my colours (typical Green!). The only thing I can really say about STRUCTOGRAM is that it was fun to explore the depths of my social and physiological make-up... I did this a over a year ago now and still use it in my daily interactions (always be on your toes with Reds).
