A look at your processes will likely reveal numerous green things you already do on a regular basis.
o Do you recycle anything rather than pay to haul it to the dump?
o Do you use natural light rather than only rely on electric lights?
o Do you check the air pressure in your company vehicles’ tires to help improve gas mileage?
o Do you suggest people turn the light off as they leave your restrooms?
o Do you print some documents back to back?
o Do you let any of your employees telecommute, thus saving gas?
o Have you planted any trees around your business?
o Do you turn your thermostat up in the summer and down in the winter when your business or company is closed?
The list goes on and on. If you look around at your current business practices you will probably find multiple things that you are already doing. Plus there may other things you could easily start doing that might even save you money.
Look for the things you are already doing or could do that are easy, help the environment and may even save you money. Then let your customers know about your environmental efforts. Letting your customers know you care about the environment can improve your business because, if all other things are equal, knowing that you are eco-friendly can be the deciding point for a purchase.
