Sports for Nature® and FIFA World Cup Soccer Team Up for Green

Hello everyone, I hope you are all doing well and this note finds you in good spirits. I want to update you on a very cool initiative involving Sports for Nature®. The United States Men's National Soccer Team plays against the Costa Rica Men's National Soccer Team in the final match of World Cup Qualifying Stage at RFK Stadium in Washington, DC on October 14th, 2009. And thanks to the generous support of DC United (MLS host team for the event), we are able to reserve group tickets for this match and have the processing fee waived. The cool part is that we will add a small increase to the ticket price - only a fraction of what the processing fee would have been - and give a portion of the funds from every ticket sale directly to environmental organizations.

This creates a win-win situation for everyone in the sense that people who buy the ticket will pay a bit less than if they would have bought it at any other online ticket selling outlet, and at the same time they are helping the environment.

So, if you can save money and help the environment at the same time, why not do it, right? Well, there's even better news, DC United is creating a special Web section within their official Website for people to purchase their ticket online through our group in a convenient manner with any major credit card and/or debit card. And not only that, they will also offer the same promotion for tickets for their two biggest matches this summer against Real Madrid and LA Galaxy (August 9th and 22nd respectively). This only means one thing...more chances to help the environment!

The Costa Rican Embassy in Washington, DC is also generously supporting this initiative and will help in promoting it within the Costa Rican community living in the United States. We truly appreciate their support!

As soon as the Web section is ready we will post it here as well as the Sports for Nature® Webpage and our Facebook group page.

I hope this is the first of many more similar initiatives involving sports and nature. The Sports for Nature® team will continue to work hard to find new ways to help raise funds for effective environmental organizations.

Thank you for your support!

Re: 10 ideas to make you money in 2010 Re: 10 ideas to make you money in 2010 - I think Education would be hard to break into. Baby Boomers, Life Support and Trading Down, however, seem like good markets. As for Green technology goes, I don't think the business has to be entirely based on Green ideologies, but rather a business that embrace Green philosophies and use that as a marketing tool.
Re: Anyone Uses Elance.com? Guru.com? Rentacoder.com? Re: Anyone Uses Elance.com? Guru.com? Rentacoder.com? - I've had quite a bit of success on oDesk.com. I've never used Elance so I can't compare. I like oDesk.com 'cos I get to sort thru people (e.g. within a certain bid range) with a single click. I find their help response very quick and I like the oDesk Team software that "providers" must install. This gives me the Buyer more insight as to what I am paying for. The Team software takes screenshots of the Providers screen on 10 min increments so I can see that the person is infact doing work for me.
Re: Discover 5 Traps of Internet Marketing that Derail Business Re: Discover 5 Traps of Internet Marketing that Derail Business - [quote="Donna":gj06obvi] I started working as a full time freelancer a couple of years ago and I have noticed that so many people think there is instant money to be made online. Donna[/quote:gj06obvi] This is true. Many years ago when I first started my SF webzine, my only ad partner at the time was Amazon.com. I confidently expected to get dozens of orders a day, and be a millionaire within a year without ever having to do lift a finger - after my initial articles had been published to the web. Of course it didnt' turn out like that at all, and if I'd been dependent on that zine to make a living wage, I'd've had to quit right then and there. Even when I started with Google Ad Sense I was also expecting to make money quite quickly... and it took that three or four years to get to a decent level. (And, as I keep pointing out, had I started with my Sports Zine first, all this might have been so different, as the topic of sports is probably 300% more popular than science fiction...) On the other hand, by persevering, I got a lot of experience in my chosen field, and was ready to do some good stuff once it occurred to me to go on the Sports kick....
Re: Are you a Blue, Red, or Green? Re: Are you a Blue, Red, or Green? - Hum... a lot of reds responding... Business owners must be a very aggressive community. Now, I was surprised when I took the course personally to find out I was a Green, secondary Blue. Of course, not believing this, the first thing I did was turn to those around me to get their opinions on my colours (typical Green!). The only thing I can really say about STRUCTOGRAM is that it was fun to explore the depths of my social and physiological make-up... I did this a over a year ago now and still use it in my daily interactions (always be on your toes with Reds).
