The first two Sports for Nature events in 2009 are coming up!

The Green Business is proud to announce the first two Sports for Nature events of 2009, Soccer for Nature II and Nature Team Tennis. Soccer for Nature is being hosted by the Dulles Sports Plex again in Sterling, VA. Last event there was in November of 2008 and over 180 players registered and hundreds of spectators attended to watch all the exciting matches. For this event we expect many more people to play and attend. We want to build on the tremendous success of the first event and hopefully have Soccer for Nature become one of the largest soccer events in the DC area soon!

The Green Business is extremely excited about Nature Team Tennis as well since this is a new format that we are trying to implement. This event is being hosted by Skyline Sport & Health Club in Falls Church, Virginia. In previous events we accepted registrations individually but for this event every team has a captain and the captain is responsible to registering his/her team. The main reason we want to try this format out is because we feel it makes it very interactive for all players, even when they are not playing. For example, each team has four doubles teams, and when one of the teams is not competing then they will be along side the court cheering for the teammates that are playing. If anyone has ever watch Davis Cup ties or World Team Tennis events, then this event should be similar.

As always, for both these events, we will have plenty of entertainment, food, beverages, sponsor prizes and gifts, trophies/medals for the winners, and much more! Plus, a good portion of the funds raised goes to environmental organizations that are doing a great job in the world to conserve our precious natural resources.

Toronto Business Events Toronto Business Events - Thanks JP - I used to put on events 2-3 times per month in partnership with Indigo to help Toronto entrepreneurs. They were great events and we had over 70 people attending but they were a lot of work to organize and put together. More recently I've been doing seminars on either Modeling Masters, raising financing, or internet marketing that are put together through other organizations. All I have to do is show up, deliver a great presentation and help local entrepreneurs - they take care of the logistics. I might be doing some more JCI events depending on how my discussions go with them in the next few weeks. I appreciate the support!

I have a friend who is considering becoming an event planner as she does very well with planning events, parties and other social events. She's very well organized, which is a must-have trait for someone thinking about getting into this opportunity.
Re: Discover 5 Traps of Internet Marketing that Derail Business Re: Discover 5 Traps of Internet Marketing that Derail Business - [quote="Donna":gj06obvi] I started working as a full time freelancer a couple of years ago and I have noticed that so many people think there is instant money to be made online. Donna[/quote:gj06obvi] This is true. Many years ago when I first started my SF webzine, my only ad partner at the time was Amazon.com. I confidently expected to get dozens of orders a day, and be a millionaire within a year without ever having to do lift a finger - after my initial articles had been published to the web. Of course it didnt' turn out like that at all, and if I'd been dependent on that zine to make a living wage, I'd've had to quit right then and there. Even when I started with Google Ad Sense I was also expecting to make money quite quickly... and it took that three or four years to get to a decent level. (And, as I keep pointing out, had I started with my Sports Zine first, all this might have been so different, as the topic of sports is probably 300% more popular than science fiction...) On the other hand, by persevering, I got a lot of experience in my chosen field, and was ready to do some good stuff once it occurred to me to go on the Sports kick....

For instance, who do your prioritize speaking with and do you set limits on how long you talk to someone? Do you only focus on those who can help your business growth, people you've met at previous events or will you also venture out to meet someone completely new? Also consider how there's always a huge line up for to get a moment of the speaker(s)' time.
