Why Online Marketers Post on Twitter

The mysteries of Online Marketing are finally being unravelled for me and I would like to pass on to you a tiny fraction of what I've learned recently. Social Networking was one of the biggest perplexities and now, I'm happy to say, the fog is lifting. A good Internet marketing program has come to my rescue. Being very new to Internet Marketing, and being told to start with posting short tweets on Twitter, I wondered what the usefulness of this would be. I then watched a training video created by John Jackson of Carbon Copy Pro, an Internet marketing program, and began to understand.

His analogy was to old-fashioned local radio stations years ago. They would start out with just a handful of listeners who became intrigued by the programs and news items, then told their friends, and the audience gradually grew and grew. With Twitter, he suggested to start out posting interesting comments, articles, news items and inspiring quotes, occasionally mentioning your special interest, i.e. a link to your business, and slowly, slowly your audience builds. I needed an Internet marketing program to explain these things to me.

I've been trying this out for the last six weeks or so and have grown to about 4,000 followers in that time. My audience is growing! What a little training from a real Internet Marketing Program can do. I've looked at the statistics and every one of my tweets have been read several time by someone. I'm taking this to mean that I'm tweeting interesting items of information.

John stressed most clearly that what we send out must be of real value and not just superficial fad nonsense. I couldn't agree more. Sadly, so many Internet marketing programs don't stress this enough so the Internet is filled with such stuff and I don't want to add to it.

So, if you've been hesitant to start into this "New Age" world of Social Marketing, plunge right in and find yourself a good Internet marketing program and you'll be wallowing in a sea of good new knowledge as you search for items to send out and build your business.

Follow the people having same interest 2. Post Unique and eye catching content 3. Post Images 4. Take your user name as your favorite product name or brand name. 5. Re tweet, replies and make favorite the posts 6. Create list of people interacting with you 7. Try to active at least 5 day a week.

Re: Using Twitter To Double Your Traffic? - I'm sure in many cases Twitter sends more traffic than Search Engines because most people don't have good enough SE rankings to get SE traffic. But anyone can get Twitter traffic. The problem is that Twitter traffic won't convert for the most part and SE traffic will. I'd venture to say that 98% of the time getting just 100 visitors from search is better than getting 2000+ from Twitter.
How to Use Twitter to Market Products? - How do you use Twitter to market products? Has the Twitter route given you good results? Please share your experience and ideas on how to use Twitter to take a product to the customers. Thank you in advance.
Re: Social Media Works If You Do It Right... - Hi Michelle, Ah, but it seems hashtags are still being used by a lot of people - including Twitter! So I would still use them for your keywords. It's just that if you are searching for something on Twitter you can either go the #hashtag route, or do a direct search on the Twitter homepage. I guess you could use #hashtags when searching on the Twitter homepage as well! DH
