Article Overview: Today I want to share a little inspiration and let you know that your leaders do care about you and that they are here for you. Ok you have finally choosen your business and have found the one that is going to change your life forever Yes Great – Lets analyze that -

The Magic is in You

For the first time in ages you feel alive, you have a sense of purpose, your excited and want to tell the world what you have found this incredible system. You are getting the help and guidance from your mentor and you are talking to people that love your product and business concept. You are off to a flying start. Starting a business such as this has the potential to make all your wildest dreams come true, and you can see a saving grace, a light at the end of the tunnel.

It starts with you strapping your business on! Its like strapping into the fastest jet, the wildest roller coaster ride. Where you are, thrown around, buffeted, encounter sharp corners, high peaks that send your stomach up to your mouth then down into the trough that forces you down into your seat - it really gets quite violent at stages you may want to throw up. (Try not to visualize this to well), At stages you're not sure whether your laughing or crying but as you round the last bend the speed bleeds off and the ride smoothes out and coasts to the end.

You've made it, you check your person, everything is in place and you're looking rosy. With a substantial figure with many zero's already in the bank - You Feel a sense of accomplishment. Is that really what happens starting a business?

Put simply. You have been wise choosing a business that includes:-

1. A proven track record.
2. A quality product
3. A sound compensation or Pay plan with generous commissions
4. A recognized niche that is part of a huge industry
5. Proven backup, training and support that unrivalled in this industry including a personal mentor
6. You have Chosen the right leader to follow

If you have previous experience you would first have put in place your Business Plan and will have set your targets and goals. In addition, not leaving things to chance you have taken the advice given on a number of strategy sessions and are following the outlined structured system that works, The wheel has been greased and is picking up momentum.

What could possibly go wrong

All you need to do now is knuckle down and watch the money come rolling in right. Everyone wants your product and are fighting to get onto your team.(That's a great affirmation by the way - say that out loud every morning).

So why the roller coaster ride effect?

Well that scenario that I have just portrayed happens for a lot of people but if you are like me I and Ed we double tied our straps as we did have that roller coaster ride.

This is what we found? There will be great days when nothing can go wrong and is an incredible boost to your bank account, ego and self esteem. However with that we had rain days when nothing happens and even worse we had bad days where everything had gone wrong. You only have to have a couple of days of rain or even worse bad days and the wolves at the gate will start taking snippets of your food or in the business sense drain your positive energy. So you need to be on your guard

So What are the Danger signs to look out for?

These are the negative thoughts that start you on a downward trend journey that serve to send you down that spiralling pit. Then you flounder and the most dangerous time ensues as you haven't recognised where you are heading those negative thoughts are consuming you - you are looking for a friend one that will jump down beside you and wallow in the mud with you. Other opportunities now start to look attractive in their deception and you loose your focus. Let me say that again you loose your focus ( that's a clue for later on)

But that's not going to happen to you as you know the danger signs? Wrong at this stage your unaware of your journey. Even worse your friend is on a similar journey facing their own adversity they to are looking for a friend someone that they can identify with.

But this is not going to happen to you. You are aware of the danger signs.

You are experiencing

Self doubt you were stupid to think that you could succeed, what was you thinking believing you could have your dreams - you know that doesn't happen for you, and you begin to think that your nay slayer friends were right and knew better and indeed they were instant experts..

A Lack of Belief your belief system is in disarray in tatters

Fear has set in how are you going to pay back those debts the ones you were looking to solve when you came here.

Hope is fading and goes Now there is only the two hopes left that you have always known that's no hope and bob Hope and unfortunately he's already passed away.

You are feeling Unworthy out of your depth and credence is given by the back up of your friend worst of all you justify your failures to each other and your self. Besides it wasn't your fault it was the government they cocked up the economy and those bankers well we know what we'd like to do with them loosing our money.

But that's not going to happen to you as you know the danger signs to look out for

But wait some of your friends - your mentor has recognized your plight - they are experienced - They know as they have been there in that very same pit. They will not be sitting beside you though, and at first, that annoys you - how could they possibly understand when they are making that huge income.

None the less they have been there all along steering you and keeping you on track nipping those negative feelings in the bud.

For you see you truly do have the best system and support there is. You mentor and the leaders know of the complexities of being in business and know how to present a simple way forward just one step at a time

Their hand reaches down you accept it and they begin to pull you back.

Relief excitement you are back on track. Phew that was close. You haven't given in and you have got up one more time. And you have got up one more time.

Now why have I painted this picture for you.

If your new getting started here you need to know the danger signs that lead to failure so you know how to head them off before disaster strikes. Before you descend into the depths of despair and misery. So that you can get up one more time.

Even if you are a veteran you need to understand them so that you are able like the leaders here be able to recognise those signs and put that hand down ready waiting to pull your team out of the mire. Ready waiting watching. So they can get back up just one more time.

We have found that those that do experience those violent roller coaster rides have done so because they have not followed the advice given and have tried to succeed their own way. The wheel on their cart is out of shape

So what is your answer to what must you do. To put the Magic in you Heres 10 simple practices.

1. Plug into the system and follow It works well and will continue
2. Follow the advice of your leader
3. Associate around those that are positive and feed your positive energy
   
   a. Keep regular contact with your director
   
   b. Be accountable to your director
   
   c. Attend any and all conference calls
   
   d. Attend all events.
4. Run a mile from the negative Influences (unless its your team and then be ready to throw the life line)
5. Develop a winning mindset after all 95% of any business is mindset and belief with just 5% being the technical stuff
   
   a. Prepare your day the night just before you sleep
   
   i. Have a to do list
   
   ii. Confirm your intention for the day ahead
   
   b. Spend 5 minutes when you wake to rehearse your day
   
   c. Spend the first 15 minutes on a positive thought
   
   i. Book
   
   ii. Audio
   
   d. Keep affirmations around you
   
   i. Use sticky notes in prominent places
   
   e. Keep the smile factor around you
   
   i. Use Pictures of your goals
   
   ii. Family houses holidays cars etc.
   
   
6. Only allow the luxury of a positive thought. Only dwell on what you do want
   
   a. Revisit your why The goals and dreams you have
   
   b. Visualize before you sleep the...
   
   i. Physical Goals lose a couple of pounds be able to walk 5 miles
   
   ii. Relationships Thing you want to do or achieve for and with your family
   
   iii. Career professional speaker mentor to x amount of people
   
   iv. Spiritual - help a charity give something
   
   
7. Avoid distractions and other opportunities
   
   a. Stay Focussed on your primary goals
   
   b. Persistent and Consistent in your tasks
8. Pay attention, attention is what you need to avoid the distractions of non money making activities that allows you to take action
   
   a. Take Action -be in the now do what you have said you'll do avoid procrastination.
9. Stay alert for the danger sign of negativity and learn to recognise them in you and in your team.
10. Never give up keep you focus solidly on the task at hand.

But most of all as art Williams said it Just do it. Get up one more time and never never never give up

In Summary At this stage you need to find the magic.

Well believe it that if you are practising the above ten steps you will find the resolve, the mindset that gives you the enthusiasm and the gusto to get out there and do it You will find the strength of character to be the best you, you can be. That is the magic and it does come from in side of you. You truly know when you have the magic you will feel a spring in your step an urge a compulsion to get the job done a healthy desire and vitality in the enjoyment and celebration of you. You can no longer be knocked down you are impervious resilient - You are a leader you are a winner in the game of life.

Let me close with a story.

A young man was going door to door selling goods and found he was hungry and had just one dime left. He decided to ask for a meal at the next house but he lost his nerve when a lovely young women answered the door. Instead of a meal he asked for a drink of water. She thought he looked hungry and brought him a large glass of milk. He drank it slowly then asked how much do I owe you. You don't owe me anything she replied Mother have taught us never to accept payment for kindness. Then i thank you from my heart said Howard Kelly as he left that house. He not only felt stronger physically but his faith in man and god was renewed he had been ready to give up and quit. He was not going to get up one more time.

Many years later that same young women became critically ill. The local doctors were baffled and finally sent her to the big city where they called in specialists to study the rare disease. Dr Howard Kelly was called in for a consultation. When he heard the town she came from a strange light came across his eyes. He immediately went to her room and recognised her at once and went back to the consultation room determined to save her life. From that day on he gave her special attention and after a long struggle the battle was won. Dr Kelly requested that the business office pass the final bill to him for approval. He looked at it and wrote something on the edge, the bill was then sent to the woman's room. She was afraid to open it as she was sure it would take the rest of her life to pay for it. Finally she looked and something caught her attention on the side of the bill. She read these words. Paid in full with one glass of milk. Dr Howard Kelly. Tears of joy flooded her eyes as her happy heart prayed thank you god that your love has spread abroad through human hearts and hands. Although the magic that we spread may not end up in a story like this they can be very rewarding by the simple choices we make on a daily basis.

All of you have made a choice - a choice the average person will hesitate to make.

You have demonstrated you desire to win to get out there and do it and do it and win.

Re: What is one of your favorite sales and marketing book? - Great post. I love biographies. My favorite book is The Magic of Thinking Big. It's such a quick, easy read. But the big take away message is you should dream big because most people don't bother to dream big and actually try big. The book cites the example of a job posting for an executive position gets far fewer responses than a job for a mid level manager or a mailroom clerk. So Dream Big & Do Big because most people won't. Off to get the Zappos book.
