Home staging anxiety may never go away

Home staging expert, Debra Gould, has been a home stager for years and she still feels nervous about her staging projects until they're completely finished. She says, "There will always be small hiccups (and sometimes large ones) that can throw you off but they're the challenges that keep things interesting and help you grow as a stager and anticipate future problems." If you feel nervous about how your home staging projects will come together and you're wondering when you'll stop feeling that way, Gould wants you to know that you may always feel that way and that if you do, you're completely normal.

You could be the best home stager around but you'll never be able to anticipate every problem or surprise that could come up. It's impossible to see how yourstaging design ideas will all come together until you're completely done and that, according to Gould, is where much of the anxiety comes from.

"I once rented an armchair that wouldn't fit up the client's narrow staircase because the legs didn't unscrew. And one time I took two drapery panels out of their packages to discover one had been mislabeled and was 14 inches too short a mere hour before the photos were due to be taken of the property. But those houses still looked fabulous and thanks to some last minute creative problem solving, nobody knew the difference and guess what? Nobody died. The world didn't end,"says Gould, founder of the Staging Diva Home Staging Business Training Program.

Many live performers feel nervous before getting on stage for a big show even if they've been touring for years but once they're up there doing their thing, they're just fine.

Gould says, "Think of the moment that a home staging project comes together as ‘show time.' You'll see that it always comes together and that you always feel anxious until that moment."

Re: Trade Shows - Are They Worth It? Re: Trade Shows - Are They Worth It? - HI, I have used trade shows (not participated) to collect potential clients. For example, the Home & Garden Industry is extremely behind the time in regards to their websites. I attended an Home & Garden Expo in Denver and collected all the companies contact information. I plan on cold calling & mailing information to each business. It also gave me time to research the industry more, talk directly to the owners in many cases, and learn more about what they need. Jeff
Try wikipedia.com for more information Try wikipedia.com for more information - That depends what type of business you are involved in. Maybe if you share that, we can help you a little better. I work mostly in the Work at Home industry so my advice would only be along those lines.
Franchises in Texas... Franchises in Texas... - I wonder if any Home Depots are going to open in Houston and environs to take care of rebuilding the city and suburbs? At the very least, it will probably be a boon for construction and home repair workers.... and scammers too, of course.
What are we worth? What are we worth? - Yes, I talk to other women business owners about this topic frequently. We still have some re-creating of ourselves to do and it's hard to overcome the socially adapted ways of being in the world. I'd suggest a panel of experienced women to look at pricing for women owned businesses products and services. This is the toughest piece for women - they don't know how to value what they do. Not hard to understand really, historically women's work has been unpaid and generations of habit do impact thought and behavior. This could be a new business, what do you think? I know of women who would pay this "consultancy group" to price their product/service. It's about validation too. Women might think they have a good price, but then have such anxiety about whether it's right. They second guess themselves, again, because they don't have the track record in business or havent' been at the negotiation table before. So ... a little service to build their confidence? I'd endorse it.
Re: Approaching Social Marketing from the right angle Re: Approaching Social Marketing from the right angle - Social profile is the reason of online reputation and business heights because company’s investor and client make direct communication with them. So always be genuine. _____________________________ Home Profit Masters
