Internet Home Business: Do You Have The Right Mindset?

Not all of us are cut out to run an internet home business. But those who have successfully achieved this are people who have the mindset that they are doing far more than just a job.

In this day and age starting and running your own internet home business is something anyone can do. If you master the skills to market your own business using the Internet this is especially so.

As literally thousands of people all around the world do this every day we know this is true. However, you need to keep a few things in mind if you're going to build a successful internet home business.

1. Approach it from a business standpoint. Grasp firmly the idea that you are in business for yourself.

It is important that you approach this with the proper frame of mind that you are going to succeed in being your own boss. You need to be able to work on your own as you will not have anyone telling you what to do.

2. I will not quit. It is a fact that successful internet home business owners are people who make a commitment to their own success and will not quit no matter what.

In the course of building a successful business you are going to face many ups and downs. You will face obstacles which will appear as nothing more than a bump in the road if you know from the outset that you are not going to quit.

3. Put in the time. It's always amazing to me that people will get up and go to work 40 hours a week for a boss, but they will not work that hard for themselves.

Those people who can hardly wait to go to work for themselves are successful business entrepreneurs. Building a successful internet business of your own takes a lot of hard work and effort, but the rewards are amazing if you are willing to put in the time.

4. Learn lifelong skills. Certainly a really exciting fact about running a business of your own online.

Having mastered the Internet marketing skills required you can then use them over and over to make as much money as you want. Unlike when you are working a job the skills you learn are being put to use to make money for the company you are working for.

Being an internet business owner means you can then take the skills you learn in your own business and use them to build your own company. Mastering these skills allows you to branch into other businesses, build new websites or retire with a residual income.

In summary successful internet home business owners understand that the business they are building is far more than just a job. You are doing it for yourself and the rewards of doing it are fantastic.

The Big Book of Small Business: You Don't Have to Run Your Business by the Seat of Your Pants, by Tom Gegax. Ditto. 3. PADI: The Business of Diving Book Okay, so this book won't be of use to anyone who doesn't want to start a scuba store, but I did, and this book was of course invaluable to me in reaching that goal.
Re: Who inspired you to start? - Hi Evan, I was inspired by Mr. Bill Gates ever since I was a student learning Computers. But I was motivated for Internet as my Business, when I read his book "The Road Ahead" in 1995. It was in this book that Gates laid out his vision of an interconnected world built around the Internet. Based on the premise that life will be transformed by the convergence of inexpensive computing and inexpensive communications, Gates drew from his experience at the center of the personal computer revolution to give insights on the growth, evolution and impact of technology. I had always looked up to Bill Gates as my idol. When I read this book, it made me more focussed on Microsoft and Internet, The Internet was one of the upcoming things in this time. Re: How many mambers of this forum are also member of WF? - Hi Kevin, I have to agree with Tanny. All forums are unique in their own way, but doesn't mean that one is better than the other. What you might get out of one forum, you may not get from another. For instance, the WF focuses on Internet Marketing, while this forum focuses on Entrepreneurship. Each has their own set of benefits. I don't think you can really compare one to the other, unless of course they focused on the same topic. I have learned a lot from this forum, stuff I would never have gotten from the WF. With that being said, I've learned a lot from the WF, specifically since I need to know about Internet Marketing and running an online business. The addition of the Online Business forum here will help, and Jeff is doing a great job as moderator.
