If you're seriously considering making an income online - either part time or full time - the best thing you can do is get some good internet marketing training. There have been many before you that have made the mistakes and you can learn from them.

You also need to be aware that many training sites offer information for free once you join their training classes. Once you get started you will also quickly realize that there are many upgrades so you do need to have an idea what your budget is for training.

Here are some tips and suggestions to assist you in finding the training that is best for you. Keep in mind that the internet changes constantly and what is good solid training today can become somewhat outdated rather quickly.

- Always do research and check credentials before partnering with anyone. Don't base your decision only on their web-site or information. Get reviews from others first.

- Reviews and testimonials are a great source of information for you. The more you get the better (8-10 at least) and credibility is enhanced with names and pictures.

- It's also important for those who will be providing training to have proper experience- the more years the better. Two or more years of training experience is ideal.

- What is their overall experience in the industry? Someone who has been in the trenches for several years can be of much more assistance than someone who stumbled into success in less than a year.

- Do they have specialties within the Internet Marketing business? Find out what they're most noted for. Does it match with your aspirations? It's a good sign if they have experience in free marketing strategies.

- You will want to find someone who offers Webinar classes. The best offer both textual and video guidance.

- The best training offers a back office resource center. The more valuable the site the better it typically is. The best sites are worth in excess of $1500. Don't be afraid to ask about this.

- Most importantly is this- do they offer one-on-one training? The once-per-week webinar training, the back office resources and the video training is great but being able to contact someone personally when necessary is crucial.

In the past, there's been some interest voiced about adding a "Social Media Marketing", "Online Marketing", "Internet Marketing" or "Online Promotion" category. I'll implement [u:1g2tv6tf]ONE[/u:1g2tv6tf] of those new categories, but can someone first tell me what the difference would be between the existing "Marketing" section and one of those new options mentioned above? Re: What is your Business? - We are running a Online Marketing Firm and we have some good clients to which we are offering a complete Digital Marketing strategy like Search, Mobile Marketing, Branding and Design. I think in Online Marketing company online presence can be a wining factor for the success of the company.
Re: Kevin's Case Study #11 - A New Forum Category? - Hi Kevin, Like GT suggested, I also think you can add Internet Marketing as a sub category in the Marketing section and also a Social marketing as subcategory. Online marketing/internet marketing/online promotion are the same, and it will be best to use the common term - Internet marketing. I can't think about someone to moderate a Social Marketing category. We all use it, we all know how to make it work and we all have our own different experience with it.

Those are all just "internet marketing" as far as I am concerned. And I normally would have voted for internet marketing, however I chose social media marketing simply because there are more than enough IM forums out there already.
Re: How many mambers of this forum are also member of WF? - Hi Kevin, I have to agree with Tanny. All forums are unique in their own way, but doesn't mean that one is better than the other. What you might get out of one forum, you may not get from another. For instance, the WF focuses on Internet Marketing, while this forum focuses on Entrepreneurship. Each has their own set of benefits. I don't think you can really compare one to the other, unless of course they focused on the same topic. I have learned a lot from this forum, stuff I would never have gotten from the WF. With that being said, I've learned a lot from the WF, specifically since I need to know about Internet Marketing and running an online business. The addition of the Online Business forum here will help, and Jeff is doing a great job as moderator.
