The Cost of Colour

Over the last few years there has been an accelerating trend for businesses to opt for colour printing rather than the traditional black and white. Colour is a much more attractive option for marketing purposes and for printing which includes images or photographs. Colour laser printers have been coming down in price and would seem the obvious choice for most businesses.

There is one drawback however and that is the cost of consumables, for not only are replacement cartridges more expensive than their black and white counterparts but you also need four of them! The higher cost is compounded by the increasing use of pictures in printed material, which use more toner than plain text. As a result colour toner can now be a very significant part of the office budget.

As people seek to cut their costs they are discovering that by refilling their existing colour cartridges rather than buying new ones they can often cut their printing costs by half, if not more.

TonerTopUp, a Kent company specialising in toner refills, has noticed a large increase in sales of colour toner over the last 3 years as office managers are becoming increasingly aware of the cost-saving benefits of refilling. “We can typically save customers around 50% on their colour toner costs” says Martin Young, Managing Director of TonerTopUp.
“We supply the widest retail range of refill toners in Europe and have about 12,000 printer models on our database.”

Colour toners can take some time to develop and TonerTopUp is pleased to announce that they now have new toners available for several very popular machines such as the Hewlett Packard Laserjet 2600, Oki C5650, Epson Aculaser C1100 and the Lexmark C522.

Don’t despair if your machine has been chipped by the manufacturer to make refilling more difficult. Replacement chips gradually become available for new models and the technical manager at TonerTopUp prides himself on making these available to customers as soon as possible.

Laser toner cartridges can often be refilled several times before they need replacing and it is usually a remarkably easy operation. Many cartridges have a filler plug built in and it is just a question of pouring in the toner powder. In these cases the special funnel caps that come with the toner make refilling a doddle. Where there is no filler plug, TonerTopUp supplies a toolkit which enables you to make a hole in the cartridge in minutes and then you can refill it, close the hole with the special bung supplied and you are ready for off again. “It really is easy” says Mr. Young. “While we would not recommend doing it on the sitting room carpet, it is a very simple and clean operation.”

The other great point about refilling is that it is environmentally friendly. Each new cartridge that is made uses up more of the earth’s valuable resources of oil and aluminium, as well as energy, and each one that is thrown away adds to our growing problem of non-biodegradable waste. By refilling, you are both reducing waste and energy consumption and conserving raw materials. And into the bargain you are saving yourself a lot of money!

Points which are considered in a bank? Points which are considered in a bank? - I have tried to value banks several times and found it very hard to proceed with it. I know a bit. But it seems to be too less to proceed. Can we take this up?? Here is what I know 1. Price to book is a more imp. 2. Net interest income and non-interest income need to thought of. 3. Loan loss provisioning. 4. Coverage ratio. 5. Cost of funds. 6. ROA, ROE 7. NPA 8. Deposits and advances. 9. Capital adequacy ratio 10. Tier 1, Tier 2 capital consideration. 11. Leverage, loan book value 12. LIBOR, SLR, CRR There are many more. And even in the ones above, it’s pretty hard to value a bank.
