Blogs are also a good source as well, but forums are much more reliable as real people will be able to assist.

Some of the new opportunities are more difficult to conduct background checks on because their awareness hasn't expanded far enough. Those can be risky to join as well so it is best to put it on hold and look for similar opportunities to the one you found and do background checks on those. You never know because you might find one that has more credibility which convinces you enough to join.
