All throughout your site, no matter the page, include the sign up form. This way, people don't have to go searching for it in order to sign up. Also, you'll find that people are more likely to sign up if they see the form several times.

Offer Incentives for Signing Up

Offering incentives for signing up is a great idea as well and can help you to build up your mailing list. Offering discounts, ebooks, special reports, and other great incentives make it more attractive to people to give out their contact information. So, consider coming up with a great incentive to give away if you want to build up you mailing list.

Allow People to Send Newsletters to Friends

Making it possible for people to send your newsletters to their friends can be very helpful for building up a mailing list as well. This option allows current subscribers to choose to send the newsletter to their friends, which is a great way to get new people on your list without having to do any promotion yourself.

It is especially essential in an online business. Because there are a lot of mind blowing sales letters promising millions dolllars or overnight success, people find it difficult to concentrate on one business and they lose their energy. Concept is simple. 1- Have a good idea; 2- Build your business on it; 3- Monetize your business; 4- Promote it; 5- Build list of responsive customers; 6- Maintain You Business. Re: Eng Lit Academic Site Up For Review - Hi Dave, - The font for the text on the left, the welcome message, is too small. - The copy can be a bit stronger, esp. if i'm going to be purchasing Eng Lit essay. - Mailing list subscription module doesn't really say what's in it for the subscriber. What am I subscribing to? What's the value? - Ad placement of the Amazon widget is questionable. Why the repeat and why the vertical misalignment? - Too much padding on both sides too little room in the middle for crucial information. - Essays on the navigation bar should probably be second from the left. Just my humble opinion. I think the information organization and presentation can be done a bit better.

Re: How do you make the most of your day? - Here are a couple things I do to get lots done. First, I work from a weekly To Do List (although I should call it an Action List) rather than a daily list. Each item on the list must be one specific action required to move one step closer to accomplishing or finishing something. It's similar to what Robert Alan talks about. Each day I prioritize 3 actions that must be completed before the end of the day. I fully commit to those actions. Second, when I really need to focus on something to get the most done possible I work in timed 50 minute increments. That may sound a little loopy but it really works for me plus I feel refreshed working that way. So I literally have a little timer on my desktop that I set to count down from 50 minutes to zero. During that 50 minutes I work without interruption. When the timer goes off I stop whatever I'm doing and take a 10 minute break. You can get an incredible amount of work done working that way without feeling like you're working hard. I don't schedule 8 of those 50 minute time periods because there isn't a need to plus I'm sure you would wear out if you did. If you haven't tried this you might want to give it a try setting just two 50 minute time periods for a couple days and fiercely keeping them without interruptions to see what I mean. I'd love to hear about your experience and any other kind of quirky things that work.
Re: Social Bookmarking Site List - Good List - over time these resources will be weeded out though . . . look for the tools that are more used to organize, well, tools. Addthis has done a great job of that - its like everyone inventing the wheel at once sometimes however.
