Starting a flow of internet income from a unique idea is nothing new. Every internet income system started that way. All a person needs to do is come up with the basic idea. Then they can take one of two routes. They can develop products to be sold from an affiliate program or a product they sell themselves.

Step 1: Choosing the right affiliate programs to partner with

The best affiliate programs will be those that target your customer base. An on-line florist would get little traffic from a pet supply website. You want an affiliate proram whose business is similar or comparable to your business interests. Avoid affiliates with low quality products. Ask to speak to existing affiliates to find out if a company is reputable. The best affiliate programs pay at least 25% commission with some going as high as 50%. Payments should be made at least once a month although some affiliate programs pay quarterly or twice a year.


Step 2: An internet income system needs a website

If you don’t have one already, get a website. Keep it low key, professional, easy to navigate and full of quality content. Don’t overuse graphics and flashy plug ins that slow down the time it takes for your page to load. Get the word out about your business online by joining discussion forums related to your area of business. Post links back to your website and exchange links with other businesses that compliment your service. Write articles for sumbission on other websites, add a blog to your website and post on it daily.

In the online world your real estate is your website. Your website showcases your business products and it is your 24 hour sales person who never sleeps and is always ready to complete the process of allowing visitors to make informed decisions when choosing to purchase your product or service. Driving interested people to meet this sales person is step 3 in our plan.

Step 3: Consistent and planned advertising that drives traffic and sales

By large, advertising online is usually very cheap. The key is to find a place online where lots of your customers are going to go. In order to do this, you have to be sure that you know who your demographic is and who is using your business. This might require some work on your part. Once you have identified who the people are that are using your business, you can go to other sites that these people are also going to be using, and you can advertise on these sites, quite easily.

People wonder if they can make money from online businesses, but the answer lies in the fact that some internet businesses do well, and some do terribly. This is where you have to look. There is no magical answer when it comes to whether or not an internet income system can make money. You have to work your hardest to get the business off of the ground, and you have to continue to work hard so that your internet income system will pay you for as long as you wish.

Internet Marketing Conference on SLife - I've been trying to log in but it keeps crashing.. anyways.. a friend of mine in BC plans on holding Internet Marketing Conferences on SecondLife and have the same top internet marketers that would normally be in Live Internet Marketing conference speak. Income will be generated from admission charges, product sales during breaks, sponsor tables, etc etc.. Just to get the ideas flowing in your head that anything you can do in the real world can be replicated in SL. There is no planned date as of yet for this conference.
Re: What or Who Sparks Your Business Interest - I guess the business bug has always been with me as I was brought up in a public house. My parents were publicans, so were my grandparents, and later so were my brother and myself. I've also managed a café, co-owned a snack bar and also a second hand store, which is where I discovered computers and the Internet as someone came in one day and asked "can you sell this for me" referring to his computer. After that I learned how to build one from scratch, install the Operating System and then went online to find out how everything worked and how to maintain computers properly. All the time I was doing this there was a thought at the back of my mind telling me that I could make a living on the Internet and eventually I made up my mind to do just that.
