In the world of brick and mortar businesses it is obvious that it takes time, commitment and financial investment to create a profitable income. As a matter of reality, most new start-up businesses are told that they need 3-5 years of capitol to invest before they can expect to start to become profitable. Most new party plan business owners are not even prepared to invest any funds after paying the initial sign-up fee, let alone wait 3-5 years to turn a profit.
In direct selling businesses the new consultant is often told that it is easy. While most direct sales business models are simple and usually easily duplicated, that does not mean anyone can do it. A superior style to bringing in new distributors would be to share frankly how the business works and what it takes to be a success. When a newbie work at home business consultant has a better conception of the investment of time required as well as a true picture of the time frame to achieve income then they will not get disappointed and give notice. While it is most likely not necessary for a party plan business owner to wait 5 years to become profitable, it is not realistic to expect a paycheck next week. New business owners should be educated to the fact that efforts put into business do not turn up the following week in the form of a pay check but may take several months to pay off.

The difference between success and failure in most direct sales businesses can be as simple as a few business systems and marketing ideas. In order to be a success in work at home business, sales reps should put onto practice other basic business practices that all successful businesses utilize. Incorporate these home business strategies into your business to guarantee success.
- Write a schedule for yourself. Every business has established hours.
- Get an education. Go to team trainings and seminars.
- Create and update annually a business plan. Every successful business works with a yearly plan.
- Network your business in all types of venues.
- Get up every day and go to work. You must work to get paid.
Home Party Plan Business Failures vs Success Strategies
While these simple guidelines seem almost a given, it is amazing how many home based business reps fail for those very reasons. The last bullet point above really is the key strategy to direct selling business success. Frequently, new reps think that their home business will be conducted "in between" other life activities, yet yield the results of a viable business. If you want to create an income from your home based business, you have to act like it is a business. Success is based on simple strategies incorporated on a regular basis. Your business cannot be put in after your active schedule. It must be a priority in your life.
