Anchored Backlinks - A Simple Guide
Anchored backlinks are the main strategy to getting your site or blog to the top of the search engine rankings for your desired keyword. It has been said that there is not such thing as too many backlinks, and that if you are not ranking high enough in the search engines, just get more backlinks.
In this article, I have listed the various ways that are commonly used to get anchored backlinks to your website or blog.
Backlinking From Your Own Blogs Or Websites
To accomplish this, you can have one main site about your product, say clocks. You can have a blog that talks about anything and everything related to clocks, a hub at HubPages that describes all the different types of clocks, a Squidoo lens that goes into detail about clock manufacturing, and .... you get the picture. You can then have anchored backlinks from all those sites linking to your main website about clocks.
Post To Forums, Blogs And Web Directories
There are many places on the web where you can post a backlink to your own site. Examples include participating in forums, commenting in blogs, writing articles for the article directories and submitting your website to web directories. But do be mindful of what is allowed before participating and posting.
Getting Other People To Post Your Backlink
This is the hardest way to go about getting backlinks. But the general consensus is that these types of backlinks are worth their weight in gold. So, in any campaign to build backlinks to your website, make sure third party backlinks are a priority.
You can find a list of a few standard ways of getting a webmaster to link to your site. But do remember that there are numerous ways to go about this and how you do it is really limited by your own imagination.
- Exchange Links. Webmasters have been exchanging links since the early days of the Internet. Links are exchanged between the link directories or the home pages of the sites doing the exchange.
- Linkbaiting. In this technique, you come up with content so good that you don't even have to ask for a link. The webmasters will automatically link to you because it enhances the value of their site. Content that is humorous, controversial or downright weird would work well.
- Give Away Something Useful. Give away something like a free ebook, or free web templates, or a free report. Make sure that your site is referenced somewhere in the gift or ask for a link in exchange for the gift.
Conclusion
The Internet has changed tremendously, and if anything, the pace of change has actually increased. Along with this change, there has been an influx of websites and blog by webmasters hoping to make a living from the net. Anchored backlinks is key to standing out from among all this competition. With the present day social networking site like Twitter and Facebook, getting in touch with other webmasters is actually much easier. It is just a matter of doing the work need, and you will get the backlinks needed to rank well in the search engines.
