The process of keyword marketing involves determining the keywords that a particular target market uses when doing search engine searches, then using those keywords in blog posts, web pages, articles for article directories, and other content for social media sites and similar places on the Internet.

When the search engines index those posts, the posts will begin to show up in the SERPs (search engine results pages). The closer they are to page one, and especially to the top of page one, the more traffic they stand to attract.

If you want to improve the SERP ranking of a post or a website, there are methods you can use to achieve this. For example, you can create anchor text links in other locations on the Internet that point back to the post you want to promote.

One way to do this is to write a new article on the same topic as the original post, but with a different keyword phrase highlighted, and submit the article to article directories. Fill in the Author Resource Box in each directory, being sure to include an anchor text link pointing to the original post being promoted. The anchor text in this link should be the primary keyword or phrase that the original post was optimized for.

To move the ranking process along more quickly, submit more articles to more directories, each with anchor text links pointing back to the original blog or post being promoted.

Once the articles are accepted and appear live in the directories, you can begin tracking the keyword ranking of the original post being promoted. Keep marketing and promoting in this manner until the post has achieved the desired position in the SERPs.

Not only will this backlinking technique improve the SERP ranking, resulting in more organic website traffic, but it will achieve the dual purpose of generating more traffic directly from the article directories.

Keyword Marketing for website traffic is something that every successful Internet Marketer does in one form or another. Identify your target market, determine the keywords they use and then focus on accelerating your marketing efforts with keywords, beginning today.
