Internet Business - Do You Need a Website When Starting One

Starting an internet business is very tempting for many people. One question that often occupies peoples' minds is; do you need a website in order to get started? I have put some thoughts about that in this article. I hope they are useful for you and you get something out of them.

Some of the most successful internet marketers are those who have built very large websites that rank well with search engines. The primary advantage of this is the potential traffic it can bring to you in the future.

Every internet businesses need sales if they expect to survive. If you drive paid traffic, for example to your affiliate website, you always have to spend money to make sales. This can become very expensive over a period of time.

If you develop a large theme website that search engines love, you will never run out of traffic as you rank high for relevant keyword phrases. Having your site ranked high in search engines can save you thousands of dollars over time.

There are examples of internet marketers who do not have a website of their own and make very good money. Most of these people build very large email marketing lists and just promote directly to it.

Some affiliate marketers make six or even seven figures every year promoting their products using an auto-responder. If you have a mailing list of 100,000 people you could expect to earn at least $100,000 a year from it.

As an affiliate marketer you would not need a website of your own because you could just drive traffic to your affiliate website. The key point here is that you have a large list of subscribers. Having your own email list allows you to send new offers periodically to your list.

You can also start a blog and use it as a website. As a matter of fact the two terms are becoming interchangeable. WordPress offers an outstanding blogging platform that does most of the work for you. You can monetize your blog with affiliate products and earn money selling those.

One common way to do that is to put Google Adsense ads on your blog. You can also add CPA offers and just sell leads to companies. With a blog you do not need to learn any HTML code and the blog can become your website.

Here were a couple of tips to create a successful internet business. Whether you choose to have a website or not you will need people to view your offers if you expect to make money.

Starting an Internet business is no different from any other business in as much as if you enjoy it and have knowledge of the subject then so much the better. Business Innovation Business Innovation - Hi Simon If you can finish off the Business Plan and think about your strategic direction or how you are going to use your product to convince people it's a great idea, it will set the foundation for your programming project. You see, when you are looking for funding you will need a Business Plan and Strategic Plan that will convince companies to invest into your new idea. Has anyone achieved this idea before using another industry besides health and fitness that you know of? You should also design some mockups as a "preview" for your programming project. This will also help reduce your programming costs as everyone will know exactly what you want if you have detailed mockups already completed including any functionality you require. Starting mockups for websites and software applications on paper is the best way if you're not a guru in graphic editing software.

Re: Who inspired you to start? Re: Who inspired you to start? - Hi Evan, I was inspired by Mr. Bill Gates ever since I was a student learning Computers. But I was motivated for Internet as my Business, when I read his book "The Road Ahead" in 1995. It was in this book that Gates laid out his vision of an interconnected world built around the Internet. Based on the premise that life will be transformed by the convergence of inexpensive computing and inexpensive communications, Gates drew from his experience at the center of the personal computer revolution to give insights on the growth, evolution and impact of technology. I had always looked up to Bill Gates as my idol. When I read this book, it made me more focussed on Microsoft and Internet, The Internet was one of the upcoming things in this time. So I took over to the Internet as my primary business. Regards,
