2. Give generous commissions (typically 25 percent or more)

Use your head. If it's not a hot-ticket item, what's the use promoting it if commissions are under 25 percent? Affiliate programs to stick with are those that feature at least 35 to 40 percent commissions for each sale.

3. Have reasonable sales conversion rates

Here's where excellent copywriting helps. Quality sales letters are good for sales. Super affiliates know how valuable well-written letters are to earning big. Even if you have an email list with thousands of subscribers, it is worthless if the sales letters of the products you are promoting are poorly written. You need a brilliant sales page to pull successful sales off. It spells the difference between making a single sale or hundreds.

4. Sell services and/or products that hold personal interest to you

One important aspect of affiliate marketing is to sell something that personally interests you and you have some knowledge of. Your disinterest will show, even if you don't want it to. People do sense if you don't have any knowledge about the products you are promoting. Your own feelings and know-how can be very crucial factor for peoples' decision to buy or not the product. The internet is full of all kind of different niches. You will certainly find something that interests you.

5. Sell stuff you'd buy yourself

Impression counts for a lot. If you're curious about certain affiliate programs and you find their sales letters poorly written, others will likely react the same way. Here's another situation. You go over the sales webpage for a product and are left itching to whip out your check book or wallet to purchase the featured items. In this scenario, you've clearly got a winner.

6. Ready all resources and tools necessary for promoting products and services



Every good quality affiliate program offer extensive promotional tools, such as banners, email letters, articles about the products, and so on. Having all these prepared beforehand will make the task of promoting and endorsing that much easier.

7. Prompt payments, please

The Internet is filled with shady affiliate programs that don't fork over the affiliates' hard-earned money. Use search engine giants like Yahoo! or Google to learn more about any affiliate programs you've got your eye on. Read the reviews about the program, and if most of them are negatives move on to next one.

Proper affiliate program selection is a key to succeeding in this business. With the right program, half your work is already done. To pick affiliate programs that won't disappoint, you need to stay constantly informed on what's happening in and around affiliate marketing. Keep at it and before you know it, you'll be earning huge sums of money from affiliate marketing.
