When starting an affiliate internet marketing business, you really should know how to use affiliate programs correctly. There are a plenty of different ways you can use to earn online income selling affiliate products and/or services. Let's talk about some ideas you can use to get more from your affiliate marketing business.

1. Not all affiliate marketing programs are created equal so you must find ones to represent that are of the highest quality. This does not mean that you should automatically choose the brand name affiliate programs. A great way to find affiliate programs is to evaluate them after buying something on the internet. As a satisfied customer you may become a successful affiliate if the merchant you purchase from offers products.

2. Whenever possible promote something other than the affiliate website provided for you. Because thousands of other affiliate marketers have this same site it is a disadvantage to your affiliate marketing business to use it directly.

There are numerous ways to promote affiliate products online today. Some of the ones that work the best include building separate website for your affiliate programs and products, creating a pre-sell page, writing reviews and posting them online, starting a blog, starting a Squidoo website, and so on. The main thing here is that you promote your affiliate products differently and more creative ways compared to your competitors. This fact alone will help you sell more if you do it properly.

3. Remember that some people take over 10 times to be exposed to an offer before they make a purchase. Therefore to increase the odds of making a sale you need to follow up with your prospects on a repeated basis. An excellent way to do this is to start an email marketing building an opt-in list of your own. Then follow up with your subscribers and passively promote your products. When the time is right they will purchase from you because you are the one that has kept in front of them.

4. Focus on one affiliate marketing program or product and online income opportunity before adding another one. Niche marketing is very tempting because there are so many different ways to make income online today. However, one common mistake that many internet marketing business owners make is they do not focus on a product and make a profit with it before branching into another one. Therefore they jump around from one program or product to the next and never make any online income with their affiliate marketing business.

There are pros and cons to Affiliate Marketing, just as there are to any business. As has been suggested, he best policy is to proceed with caution and do some research before jumping in. As Carol has recommended, this topic thread in the EvanCarmichael.com forum is the ideal place to ask questions and seek further input on available Affiliate Marketing programs. If a person is serious about building an online business and is interested in Affiliate Marketing plans, they should approach the process as they would any other form of business. Research, ask questions, compare opportunities, participate in forums on online business and Affiliate Marketing. GT :-]
Re: Affiliate Marketing - Open for Discussion - Hi GT Affiliate Marketing is one of the easier ways to get started making money online, but it does take quite a bit of work before you see any great results as you have to keep promoting constantly. It does teach you one hell of a lot about all aspects of Internet Marketing though as you will need to learn how to write and submit articles, create and maintain a blog, social networking is a great help to affiliates too..the list goes on and on. Re: Affiliate Marketing - Open for Discussion - You made some very good points here Jeff and I agree with you, Affiliate Marketing should not be something that you concentrate all your efforts into. As i said earlier I have learned a lot with Affiliate Marketing and continue to do so, and it has helped me tremendously to understand what I am going to have to do in my chosen niche(s). Re: How many mambers of this forum are also member of WF? - Hi Kevin, I have to agree with Tanny. All forums are unique in their own way, but doesn't mean that one is better than the other. What you might get out of one forum, you may not get from another. For instance, the WF focuses on Internet Marketing, while this forum focuses on Entrepreneurship. Each has their own set of benefits. I don't think you can really compare one to the other, unless of course they focused on the same topic. I have learned a lot from this forum, stuff I would never have gotten from the WF. With that being said, I've learned a lot from the WF, specifically since I need to know about Internet Marketing and running an online business. The addition of the Online Business forum here will help, and Jeff is doing a great job as moderator.
