While using pop unders, and sending emails to safe lists can be effective in the short term , nothing beats having someone come to your website looking to make a purchase.

There are several tried and true methods to getting targeted traffic and even after all these years of Internet marketing they still are the best methods of free website traffic.

Article Marketing- This is probably the oldest and still the best way to get traffic to your site. Nothing beats a good authors resource box and a few strategically placed keywords with links to your site. If you want traffic write articles and place them in the directory’s .

Forum Marketing- There are thousands of forums where you can make a post and get involved with the community. A meaningful comment with a signature promoting your website will bring people to your website because of something you said. They usually are interested in you and more likely to buy from you.

Manual Traffic Exchange- A lot has been said about manual traffic exchanges - some good and some bad. The truth is if used properly they can be extremely successful in getting free website traffic. The key is using a splash page that gets people to click or put in information ( usually their email) once they do that you send them to your website. Again, these people have done something extra to get to your site so they usually are going to be more willing to purchase something.

Getting free website traffic is essential to the success of any Internet home business. Once you master these three your business will start to take off.
