Party Plan Show Tips: 7 Ways To Make Your Direct Sales Home Party Memorable

Want to make your home party an affair to remember? Choose to be a lasting memory rather than a cheap thrill!

The pleasure of the buying experience is as important as the price of the product. Don't sell products or services. Instead, create an experience for your customers ~ Mark Sanborn

Here are 7 party plan show tips that every home party consultant can use to host a memorable direct sales home party!

1. Keep It Current: This is no longer your mothers tupper-ware home party! You have to keep up with the times. E.g., host an online party if your guests have trouble attending an in home show party. This shows you as being flexible and taking into account the time of others.

2. It's a party so throw a good party. An at home party is easy to do. Themed home parties are all the rage. E.g., schedule your parties along monthly celebrations. March is St. Patty's Day, let that be your theme.

3. Samples: Allow people to sample your home party products. I recommend setting a sampling table before the actual home party demostration. Not sure what to do? Visit your local Costco or Sam's Club for ideas on how to set up a sampling booths :)

4. A well trained hostess: The traveling salesowoman share the most hilarious anecdotes about hostesses and the training they need to make you a killing in home party sales. Your hostess is your secret weapon. Allow her to work her magic.

5. Testimonials: Being a psych major has come in very handy for Party Plan Pat. Women shop by soliciting the opinions of others. You had better get in the habit of collecting testimonials, written, audio and audio visual. I would make a point of placing writtn testimonials on the sampling table, brochures, fliers and any hand outs you offer.

6. Your Invitations: Send a card. People love to get mail. If you want to stand out, do it through cards and post-cards! Then follow up with emails and evites and phone calls where necessary.

7. Follow UP: Many home party sales are lost due to lack of follow through. Think of the home party not as an end, rather a beginning. Your home demonstration is your business calling card. Make sure you ask questions of your guests, make sure products are delivered in a timely manner, make sure you ask the opinion of those using your products. Ask questions!

8. Home party games: What is a party without a game. Use games to break the ice, encourage interactions. Be creative. Recently I spoke to one team leader that shared a home party idea which he titled cosmos and cards...sounds intriguing to me!
